I have it in my cue, but since it's 700+ pages - I keep putting it off.

It's amazing. You can see a lot of its DNA in Mad Men, so if you're a fan of that show, definitely give it a read.

How is The Painter? I read The Dog Stars last year and liked it quite a bit.

Definitely a fan of Mad Men - which is encouraging for the book. I'll have to bump it up in my cue. Thanks.

I'm only a few chapters in, but it's decent so far. It's really just building up still. This has a different feel than The Dog Stars, and I can see it being "slower" - but it's too early to tell.

For once I liked the TV series adaptation more than the Book. Never cared for the characters. There was no depth to them. No answers are given as to why they've returned. Although the Author at the end reveals why he didn't. At least it got me back into reading.

Re: What Are You Reading?(May 2014)

I'm fascinated by the chick who founded nasty girl.com and am reading her story. She went from dumpster diving and being a sandwich artist to making hundreds of millions of dollars a year from selling clothing online.

The trailer for the book is cool.

The Leftovers by Tom Perrotta

I wanted to read this before the series starts in June. I liked it, but thought the ending was very abrupt and left things very open. Hopefully, the tv show will fill in those blanks.
