I'm looking for a copy of this DVD (detailed in this thread: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...readid=74672). Amazon.de has it for a reasonable price (high shipping price, though), but I would prefer to get it elsewhere. Does anyone know of any other online retailer that has this in stock that will ship it to America?
Cheers

...try this supplier:
http://discshop.com/dvdstation/produ...pf%5Fid=201108
ACHTUNG!: The site states that, when playing the English language version, you get 'locked' (= non-removable) German subtitles into the bargain!
...of course, the French DVD gives you French subs when playing the English language version...
http://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/fiche.php3?id=402
...so, effectively, the Italian version may be a better bet, since it apparently features English subs (which you need for all the Amerindian dialog!):
http://www.dvd.it/index.cgi?sid=1376...ett&arti=18184
...or not...
. . . ! ! . . .

Anyone know what the difference is between the French 223 minute and the German 240 (as in what additional scenes are in the German version).
The Italian Version looks like the original Image USA release (181 minutes). Can anyone confirm it's running time?
I already have the Original Image DTS release and I'm looking specifically for the "extended version."
Any help's appreciated.
Cheers

I just read a review of the Italian DVD - apparently it sucks:
http://www.tempimoderni.com/2000/dic...alla/balla.htm
For some reason its letterboxed at 1.75:1 (non anamporhic) another web site indicates its 1.85:1 and then another indicates that it is 2.35:1) when it was originally filmed in 2.35:1. Apparently the sound sucks and the brightness and the contrast do not balance.
Some other web sites indicate that it is anamorphic and that it is 2.35:1. there are different covers floating around too. One appears to be similar to the image release whilst the other has artwork I've never seen before:

Does anyone own this DVD? Can anyone comment on it's quality/length/aspect ratio? Does anyone know if there is more than one Italian version?
