Really liked Die Trying, the second Jack Reacher story. Much improved over the first book, IMO.

I'm about half-way through and really liking it. Thus far, it's the best book I've read in several months.

Re: What are you reading? (December 2013)

Based on the few high reccomandations it got here, I started reading Stephen King's Joyland, which is okay, except for the eye-rolling dialogue. King has a hard time knowing the difference between what his characters would say and what he thinks is funny to hear them say. I swear, after the first scene with the landlady, I felt embarrassed to be reading this book.

Almost done "The Fifties" by David Halberstam. I knew the bones of what happened in that decade, but it's interesting to read and understand the details and context. The stuff about Ike's campaign as well as McDonald's Ray Kroc is particularly fascinating.

It was good. A short simple novel that pretty much only features 2 characters over a short span of time. An honest character study.
Haven't read Lobster, only other O'nan book I read was Emliy, Alone (which I found out too late that it was sequel to Wish You Were Here).

Wanted to read Doctor Sleep, but had never read The Shining before or actually saw the movie. So.... reading The Shining.

I also completed my yearly reading challenge of 50 books this year last night when I finished Mostly Harmless.

Ok, a quick read, but pretty predictable.

Finished Desecration: Antichrist Takes The Throne (Left Behind #9), started: The Remnant: On the Brink of Armageddon (Left Behind #10)

Getting anxious to finish this series, I have other things I want to read.

I enjoyed the first one, this second one is more of a chore. And I'll be passing on the third.
