The 80's The Decade That Made Us National Geographic Series narrated by Rob Lowe

Anyone watching this on the National Geographic Channel?

VH1 covered the 80's but this time you can relive it without the snide comments from 3rd rate comedians but real celebrities like Larry Hagman, and learn more about the VCR and other technological advances.

Watched one episode and I am hooked and want to sell all 6 parts.

I think they will repeat all the episodes during the week usually before the new episodes air tonight and tomorrow.

I wish I could be sent back to the 80's and live in that decade again.

I've caught the first four episodes so far and I've really enjoyed it. Initially I turned it on out of interest, but mostly to have something on in the background, however, it really captured my interest. I was born in 1987, but I've always had this love for all-things 80's...especially the music.

Recorded all 4 parts that have aired. 2 more tonight. Will try to marathon through them eventually.

I did see part of the segment on Jim and Tammy Baker. That was really interesting.

It's On-Demand now, so no need to wait a week. Go for it (where available)!

does NatGeo show commercials?

I'd rather DVR it so I can FFwd through the ads.

On demand with optimum disables the FF function sometimes.

At least they used the correct spelling of the '80s and not the increasingly common misspelling (the 80's).

Then again back in 1980 reporters checked their facts and tried to be accurate before breaking a story early.

Reagan assassination? I don't remember that happening.

Is this show like VH1's "I Love the '80s" or whatever it was called?

"Attempted" Reagan assassination.

Similar in that it chronicles the 80s, but it focuses a little more on the big news stories and less on the fads than "I Love the 80s" did. Although, they do marginally cover some fads.

The show doesn't have people commenting too much on the topics unless they were somewhat involved in them whereas "I Love the 80s" would drop a topic on the comedians and basically say, "Hey, remember this?"

Don't know if you wrote that on purpose, but very '80's vernacular

You'll only get 5 episodes on a T-160 unless you edit out the commercials.

T-160 tapes can hold 8 hours in the slowest mode. That should easily fit 6 hours long episodes.
