$850,000 opening weekend. Currently sitting at around $1.7 million dollars of it's $30 million dollar budget. OOF!
Not saying that releasing it any other time would have helped the film, but has it ever been said why it was released Thanksgiving Weekend?

That graphic artist just made himself a toxic asset to any production company. Good job!

That was a weird decision as well. $30 million dollar film opening in 500+ theaters. I read that the plan was to open in more theaters after the opening week, but the decision was pretty sketchy.
Also was there any sort of press for this film?

EDIT - yeah he's still in rehab. I remember now. He got into a fight with someone at a bar in Santa Monica before hugging it out. He checked himself in a couple of days later.

Finally caught this the other day and all I can say is "wow.... that sucked". The sort of twist ending was obvious from the minute the motive was revealed but the premise that Brohlin learns some major lethal kung fu and is hard as nails physically is preposterous.

Luckily it's Friday so I'll drink so much that I won't remember any of this happened tomorrow.

Can we at least agree that the remake would have been amazing had Tommy Wiseau been cast instead of Goonies Brolin?

Just finished this. It wasn't terrible. It helped that the cast was solid. The was one editing flow that bugged me: The cut between him throwing Sam Jackson into the others and then suddenly appearing in the hall for the hammer fight.
But overall, not s bad as I expected.
