Target $5 Blu-ray Bargains
I searched and couldn't find a relevant thread, so forgive me if there is one, but when I was in Target today one of the locations I went to had a $5 section set up. I took photos of what they had. Some good titles to be found. A lot of these were the Lionsgate re-releases of Miramax/Dimension films.

Re: Target $5 Blu-ray Bargains
Pretty much all of these have been $5 for the past year. We've had a couple of threads on these before. I always check to see if they will ever update them, but nothing yet.

I would love to see this display at my Target, but it never gets good deals.

The only $5 blu ray my local Target carries is The Others. It has one of those M. Night Shyamalan-esque endings, so I won't be re-watching.

Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere but the Blu-ray 100th Anniversary of Do the Right Thing is 5.00 at Target, I picked it up yesterday.

I remember when that movie came out, 100 years ago. It was so progressive that DW Griffith made Birth of a Nation in direct response to it, I believe.

I was at the Wareham, MA store over the weekend, and noticed they threw Stone in their $5 Lionsgate display, an Anchor Bay title. It might be YMMV, but if anyone has been wanting to pick it up, I don't think I've seen it this cheap before.

I know that came out goofy, I just didn't bother to word it any differently. Fine, the Universal 100th Anniversary combo version of the movie, it's still 17.99 at amazon, forum rules won't let me post the link.

There was a much better set of the Rambo movies released in the UK last year (though I believe Rambo III is Region B locked), with better transfers, and it's been said it will be stateside at some point this year since it's the 30th anniversary of First Blood.

Re: Target $5 Blu-ray Bargains
I saw a bunch of new ones today. A lot were also $5 at WM, like Adventureland. I'll be damned if I can remember the others, but there were at least 5 new $5 titles...
EDIT: The Spirit is another title...

Re: Target $5 Blu-ray Bargains
When this old list of $5 BD titles was first posted (mid last year I think), I called every Target in my area (there are many) and even went to a few. Not a single one of them had any of these $5 titles except 3:10 to Yuma, Ninth Gate, and Highlander, IIRC. AFAIK, those same 3 titles are still at every store for $5. One store claimed another not-too-far-away store had some in their inventory from their handheld scanner, but when I went there they didn't have any of them. I always spend 3-5 minutes in Target's movie selection whenever I go to a Target just looking for any sale tags, and I have still not seen any of these other $5 titles. Fortunately none are ones I care that much about, and Fry's and Walmart had many of them for $6.99 ($2 more, I know) so I went that route. I prefer $5, but $7 for a new BD is my magic number. For whatever reason I go ho-hum on most $8 or higher titles, but at $6.99 and under I'll often buy it unless I already own the DVD (which is often the case).
In summary, these $5 BDs are only at certain Targets and not nationwide, and I gave up looking for them long ago. Even if I ran across this display, I don't think there's anything left that I haven't already gotten for close to the same price ($5-$7) somewhere else.
