I have an idiot question, are the dvd's uncut? if i recall, due to content reasons, the first 2 episodes were edited on AMC but later shown uncut on the IFC channel.

My wife and I just finished Season 1 of Breaking Bad. I've read & heard too many good things about the show to not give S1 a try.

I'm now glad I did.

I watched the first three seasons in three weeks. Now caught up and it's torture having to wait each week for a new episode.

Is there a summary somewhere of what was edited ?

It's funny that this was once a one thread for the entire season show.

watched the pilot the other night. There were a few F bombs, and even brief frontal female nudity (which is a no no on basic cable), so i'm guessing those are either bleeped or blurred when it aired.

Loved the pilot, I was actually surprised at how loud and active the show was, as alot of tv shows are either really flat or have no bass at all when it comes to gun shots or what not. Looks like i'm in for quite a ride

Yes. The nudity was blurred and the f-bombs were muted when it originally aired.

It is funny. I remember it starting off as an episode by episode thread (I started a few) and then it dropped off after three or four episodes before this one season thread was made. How times change...

2.5 years later and still waiting

This is such a good show, love Cranston. Loved the ending too.

Also, noticed that there's prob like 1 or 2 FUCK's per episode. I take it they still do that now and bleep it

Finished season one over the weekend and I'm hooked. Now I don't feel that bad about Cranston always winning the Emmy over Jon Hamm, he's incredible in this. Hoping to finish up the next three seasons before the start of season 5.

Yeah. I was reading the Made Men thread today and someone mentioned that Jon Hamm was going to win the Emmy for sure this season. I guessed he's not watching Breaking Bad.

Re: Breaking Bad - Season 1 Discussion

I've been re-watching some S1 shows again on Netflix and have taken a more harsh view of Walt's actions this time around. The episode Gray Matter is the where Walt's pride drove him to decide not to accept any help from Gretchen and Elliot and start cooking again with Jesse is where he turned into a real douche. The road he ended up going down would have been bad enough even if he had had no other alternatives. However, he could have easily accepted the financial help and spared himself, his family and countless others all of the consequences of his not sucking up his ego and pride instead of making that fateful decision to "break bad".
