I thought their last album, Perfect Symmetry, was terrible. I accept bands that try to grow and change their sound, but that album went all kinds of wrong ways.

So far, this sounds like a return to form and the sound of their first two albums, which I loved.

Anyone else interested?

I liked Perfect Symmetry save for a few of the commercial songs. I don't know what Night Train was though. This one I'm looking forward to.

I couldn't agree more. I love those first two albums, but the last two really missed the mark. This new single really does sound like return to their classic sound. I'm optimistic about this new one.

There were 2 or 3 decent songs on "Perfect Symmetry", such as the first single. Which took the longest time for me to get into. But now, I love it. "Night Train" was a, well, trainwreck. All kinds of awful.

That track does have me a bit hopeful for the new album. Dear God, the last two (well, 1.5) were bad.

Re: Keane - Strangeland - May 7, 2012

so is the 'Mint Pack' Deluxe Edition being released in the States?

1. You Are Young
2. Silenced By The Night
3. Disconnected
4. Watch How You Go
5. Sovereign Light Cafe
6. On The Road
7. The Starting Line
8. Black Rain
9. Neon River
10. Day Will Come
11. In Your Own Time
12. Sea Fog

Bonus tracks (exclusive to Deluxe edition):
13. Strangeland
14. Run With Me
15. The Boys
16. It's Not True

I'm answering my own question here, according to Amazon website there is a CD deluxe edition, but no track listing, but I'm assuming it's all 16 tracks.

Amazon MP3 now has the standard album (with digital booklet) for $5, and the deluxe version (with the bonus tracks and digital booklet) for $12.99. You could just buy the standard version and then buy the four bonus tracks individually to save a few bucks.

The iTunes deluxe version is $13.99, and has a fifth bonus track titled "Myth" that cannot be purchased separately.

Disconnected is terrific IMO. Ungodly singing.

I've now been listening to it for a full week and I can't get past the thought that it's incredibly bland and just down right boring! I'm now glad I didn't buy tickets for the upcoming nashville show!

While definitely a step up from the last album and a half they've released, it's still not quite on par with the first two. It's nice background music, but most of it lacks passion.

Yeah, I have to agree. "Sovereign Light Cafe" is the only track that immediately grabbed me, although the first single linked above isn't bad.

I'm liking this album. That last album was awful.

Good singing, nice melodies. That's all Keane needs to do.
