I just watched the first 3 episodes again, and I like this show WAY more than I thought I would.
Lena Dunham is a major talent.

I have to admit this show is really growing in me. I was interested it in the premise from the beginning but the pilot left me with a 'meh' feeling that was only slightly improved by the second episode. I missed episode three last week but caught up last night with a mini-marathon. The third episode really sealed the deal for the show with me: it's become more earnest, raw and funny - and slowly I'm starting to be able to actually feel for Hannah and her situations (were in the beginning I almost wanted to roll my eyes).
The "d*ck pic" and "I'll totally sleep with you when your not longer a virgin" had me almost rolling on the ground with laughter.

I think this show gets progressively better. I also really liked Eps 3 and 4.

I didn't care for the pilot but I'm glad I kept up with this because I really like seeing what happens next with these characters. Really liked the ending to this one.

I think this show has gotten better and better. The babysitter chick has grown on me and the Jewish girl is pretty interesting. I think Dunham may be the most uninteresting because she's too predictable.

I don't get it either. It isn't like these girls are A-list and stealing all sorts of roles and are just bad actors. They are on a small show that barely eeks out a million viewers over two showings and are actually pretty good actors.

I'm glad the show is getting better. Some funny stuff - I was abut to gag at the guy's "band" and his lame music, but I LOVED that "diary song"!
Another thing; I kinda hated all the characters after the first episode, but now I kinda like them, each in their own way.

I agree. They are doing there jobs perfectly - all of them have grown on me. Not to mention this wasn't like some producer just hand picking his daughter and her friends... has anyone read Dunham's interviews about the casting process? Its sounds like it was a Tornado of a nightmare.

Can someone help me associate the names with the characters? The only one I know is the main girl is Hannah. Which one is Shoshana?
Also, what's up with the horrible tattoos that Hannah has? And why did they use someone else's face (and body?) for her character on the poster?

Whoever made that parody poster is an idiot. To even imply that Lena Dunham got the part because her mother is an artist (that I've never heard of) is insane -- she got the part because she created the show, wrote and directed every episode of the show (so far), wrote and directed her own well-reviewed independent movie last year, and may in fact be (as Hannah herself pointed out ) the voice of her generation (or at least a voice of a generation). Those girls all got cast because they deserved it, not because of who their parents are. None may be from meager upbringings, but that doesn't make it nepotism.
Now Zosia Mamet's mother, on the other hand...

Nice to see Richard Masur as Mr. Touchy-feely. I always remember him as the mentally challenged supermarket helper on All In The Family.

I'm enjoying the show more now as well. Wasn't crazy about the first two episodes, but the last two have a had a few solid laughs and the characters are getting more heart.

I never saw where all the hate came from for this show. The first two episodes were admittedly slower, but there were still some really hilarious situations. The latest two episodes have really established these characters and I'm really enjoying the show. There's a realness to the dialogue and the characters. I seriously had almost the same "virgin" conversation three weeks ago with a friend. There's always at least two things each episode that make me laugh out loud, and that's way more than I can say for most comedies on tv right now.

Yeah, I think it's odd how the show seems to go out of its way to sell her as this huge sex symbol. She's not unattractive, but I think they go a bit overboard with it.

It's definitely gotten better and more importantly, interesting.
I still don't find it very funny though.

Richard Shepard (The Matador, The Hunting Party) directed this ep - which was an improvement. I HATED the first episode and Dunham's Tiny Furniture, but the show has started to grow on me - the last 2 episodes have been quite good.
