Interesting. Guess it's time to actually play GoW3.

Re: God of War: Ascencion

Hmm....so a prequel? Hopefully it'll be somewhat as good as GOWIII. Don't think it can quite top that, but hopefully get close.

Re: God of War: Ascencion

I guess I'm gonna have to finally play GOWIII, despite the fact that the demo for it killed my interest in the game.

GOW III has been one of the best PS3 action titles to date. Can't wait for another one in the series!

Just curious, but how did the demo kill your interest? This is one damn fun game to play. I thought the demo captured that pretty well. But it is definitely a very small slice of the entire game.

I love the tagline: "Art Not Final".

Presumably there will be man-on-man action in the straight porn mini games this time around.

It just felt like the same game I'd played before but with prettier graphics. I expected more.

Re: God of War: Ascencion

I know this is probably blasphemy, but having never played any God of War game, I got the God of War Collection on PS3 and lost interest part of the way through the first one. I got to Hades, which I guess is pretty far, and there were moments where I thought the game was really fun, but I just had no desire to finish it. If it were a little shorter or I was better at action games, I probably would have felt differently.

I don't know... I loved the first three (never played any portable version(s)), but I don't know that I care about a prequel enough to bother.

Then you'd hate GOW II, it's much longer and has perhaps the hardest single challange to overcome, at least for me.

You definitely need to give the whole game a shot then. You'll get more, a lot more.

I'd feel better about this game if I saw a San Diego Studios logo somewhere on the credits. Are they the team working on this title?

You mean Santa Monica Studios, yes, they're the ones behind this again.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/...coming-to-ps3/

"Hi everyone! I’m Todd Papy, the game director of the recently announced God of War: Ascension. As most of you were recently made aware, God of War: Ascension will be coming exclusively to PlayStation 3. For those of you who haven’t had a chance to check out what the team at Sony Santa Monica Studios has been working on, I’m excited to present you with our very first trailer. Watch it and let us know what you think in the comments!"

Also, From MSNBC:

"The game is in development for the PlayStation 3, according to a post on the official PlayStation blog. Sony plans to reveal more about the game in a live streaming event on April 30 at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT. Submit questions on Twitter to @PlayStation by this Friday at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT (include #godofwarascension in your tweet) and if your question is chosen, you win a signed God of War: Ascension poster."

Good to know. I've heard many people say II is their favorite, so I've considered giving it a try, but I think I need to just accept that these games are not really for me.

Wasn't the PSP game the prequel? Is it no longer canon now?

Re: God of War: Ascencion

I ADORE the God of War series and i can’t wait for this one, but i just hope that it’s not a TRUE prequel, meaning BEFORE he ‘died’ and got his Blades of Chaos and became ‘supernatural’ with powers and magic etc.

I just hope it’s not Kratos when he was human, with no special abilities or his blades and killing plain old boring soldiers!

He won't cook it. He'll kill it and then he'll have his bitch cook it for him.

You just have to pass the mini-game where he bangs her first.

Loved the series and have played every iteration so far. That being said, this is definitely a day one purchase for me.

Which challenge was that? I never got stuck in GOW II like I did with GOW I. Climbing those damn spike pillars out of Hades, ARGHHHH!!!!

The spiked pillars is where I quit playing the game....but I played the other ones, beat them and loved them.
