U scoots 'Fast' to Memorial Day 2013
'Fast & Furious 6' will bow May 24

Universal Pictures is moving its "Fast" franchise firmly into summer, dating "Fast & Furious 6" for Memorial Day Weekend 2013, more than a full month later than its blockbuster "Fast Five" bowed this year.

With the 2013 calendar still pretty wide open, U picked May 24 to bring back Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson, with Justin Lin back on board to direct.

The April 29 bow for "Fast Five" brought Universal's largest opening weekend domestically with $86.2 million. That movie heralded the unofficial start of the 2011 summer tentpole season, and is close to surpassing the $600 million mark at the worldwide box office

Paul Walker must love Justin Lin. Not only did Lin give him a career again with these movies, he also cast him as Kyle Reese in Terminator 5.

I don't think they are ready to address Tokyo Drift and Han's death yet. Universal has a solid formula now and it seems like they are bringing Michelle Rodriguez back from the dead. So I can't seem them getting rid of a fan favorite.

I just hope Vin and The Rock finally kiss in this movie. There was so much sexual tension in that scene in Fast 5 when they held their faces an inch apart from each other. It felt like it went on for three minutes.

I loved every minute of Fast Five. The Rock was a fucking brilliant addition to the franchise so I'm actually eager to see where this goes.

I had only seen the first one then Fast Five. I recently watched 2 Fast and Tokyo Drift. 2 Fast was a blast, while Tokyo was a snoozefest.
