The problem with The Spirit was that it was not only really, really bad, but also really, really boring and had the most painful awkward dialogue a Hollywood movie has ever had in recent time. As I have said before, maybe the best way to watch this film on dvd/blu-ray is by putting on the French dub and having English subtitles. It's probably easier to "read" this type of cheesy comic-book dialogue, rather than listen to it.
