Just when I give up on Billy Corgan....

...He does something that keeps me at the very least interested..

Today he played A record day special in LA, played a couple of his new songs..and brought out some of the hits. He sounded GREAT with those old hits..

Then he brought out 2 songs that he hasn't played in a LONG time:

Stumbeline (last played in 98):

Tristessa (last played in 94):

And a old demo that he has never played live, Soot and Stars:

It would be better if he brought back Iha and D Arcy and Chamberlain.

The last album released by the new Pumpkins (Oceania) wasn't great I'll give you that, but the LPs before that; Teargarden by Kaleidoscope was pretty amazing.

They actually released an album after Oceania, Monuments to an Elegy.

I liked Oceania quite a bit. Monuments To An Elegy was not good except for 2-3 songs.

I keep forgetting about Monuments, I should give it a listen but really? Only two to three songs? I guess Billy is digging his heels deep into his experimentation phase.
