Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

I just got this over the weekend. Solo is pretty intense. The most kills i've gotten in a game so far is 2, haha. Highest i've lasted is around #30.
squad play is fun. My buddy picked up the game last night so i'll have to try to play Duo with him once he figures it out

Is it coming out for PS4? I thought it was an XB1 exclusive? (timed exclusive maybe?)

This just hit my radar this weekend. Probably going to get it soon even though I haven't gamed on PC in ages.

It's a timed exclusive. It will be coming out on PS4 after they just haven't said how long.

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

I played as a Duo team with my buddy last night. Headsets with mics are a must since you cant type out chat. First game he got shot right when he landed, haha. I ended up killing the two guys that killed him but then died when i tried to run down a team while on a motorcycle.
We did have a fun game where we actually had time to get geared up (rifles with scopes!) and lay an ambush. A team in a dune buggy came by so we unloaded on them. they killed my teammate but i killed one of them. Then it was 1 vs 1 with both of us hiding behind trees. I would have killed him when i ran up to his tree but i ran out of ammo, haha. I ran back to my tree to loot my dead teammate but the enemy got me before i could reload.

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

played a ton of this over the weekend and holiday. Got a chicken dinner (i was dead but watched while one of my squad members won). I think the most people i;ve killed in a game is only 3.

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

I'm still playing this game like crazy. I got #2 in solo; still have not won the solo chicken dinner. I've been getting a lot of top 10s in solo and squad. squad is great if you have a decent team but with match making, i only seem to get a good team (one that sticks together, doesnt DC, and talks on the mics) like 10-20% of the time.

Also part of the B2G1. For $20, I'll give it a shot.

^ Good idea. I'll order one as well.

I know they did the same thing with ARK, but it seems so weird to release a physical disc for a game that is in "Game Preview Edition".

It's just going to be a code in a case just like the Cuphead physical release that is coming out.

Looks similar to the Battle Royale mode in Fortnite?

Almost exactly... I wish PUBG was on PS4 so I could compare.

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

Fortnite ripped off the battle royale mode from PUBG. PUBG is more realistic, though, with better bullet physics; like CS:GO.
its a real thrilling game

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

It was released yesterday for the Xbox One. Servers were at the max.

First time playing the game, I had a lot of issues adapting to the controls. I usually play Gears of War.

First game I was able to stay alive until there were only 38 alive. I died because I didn't know how to read the map, and go to a safe area. I didn't shoot any gun or kill anyone.

Second game I died pretty fast, I was 70 or something. I tried shooting someone but it didn't work.

Did some reading and found out how to load your gun. It doesn't autoload automatically the first time. It doesn't have auto aiming either so...

Third and last game, I was number 9! I was able to shoot someone, but my rifle wasn't automatic or something, really hard to aim too. So I tried to shoot someone, I'm not sure if I hit him with any of my bullets.

It was late to me, so that was all. By the third game I was really excited about the game.
If I learn how to shoot it will be awesome!

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

I got my copy in the mail yesterday but didn't get around to installing it yet. Figured it would be pretty broken for at least the first week or so, if not longer.

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

I think just about everyone dies their first game from not realizing the gun doesn’t auto load when you pick it up.

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

on the PC, you have to push a button to switch from "single shot" to "auto fire". I heard that the best way to get far in the game on xbox right now is to get a car and run over people. The lack of aim-assist has it so most people cant hit you if you keep moving around.

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

I was second place in my last game yesterday!

And I killed one person.

Yeah, there's a button in the controller to change from single to auto, I discovered that yesterday. I don't remember which right now, though.

So, basically the way it works for me is to hide. LOL! The one I killed yesterday was at the beginning of the match, poor guy was naked with no guns. In previous matches I had some fire fights that I lost.

So, in my best game, I was lucky to choose the play where the map was going to be restricted at the end, so I didn't move a lot. I was hidden in an open garage, with a car!, and I stayed there until it was only 6-8 people left. I went into the car and started driving in the small playing area. There was another guy un a car that started hitting me. So at the end it was just 4 people. Two of us in two cars, and two people on foot. They were able to kill the guy in the other car, I was trying to run over them, but one was really well protected by some rocks, the other one was near a tree, he started moving and I went after him. The killed was given to the other guy though. And then my car exploded and I died. Good times!

Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

I watched a long game play video on this - don't think I would be able to get into it - I do love the non-invincible feel to it and how threatened you feel but overall it just doesn't look all that exciting to me.

Turns out it's a slip of paper in a thin cardboard box. Not even a case.

My son tried our copy yesterday. He sort of liked it, but wished it had a tutorial. He couldn't figure out anything initially.

The map is weird, I couldn't tell where he was in it. He asked me how to move to the restricted area and I had no idea which way he should be moving.

It's a fun game for a while, but I became pretty tired of it when I realized a) I'm terrible at it, and b) your best chance of winning is to just hide for as long as possible. Plus, it's always been full of jank and never really ran well, and, from what I saw in a digital foundry vid yesterday, it doesn't look like much has changed with the switch to consoles.

Fortnite BR is the better version of this type of game, imo.
