Read the servers are getting hammered, because...you know...Bungie didn't think anyone would play the beta.

Ugh. I'm sure the day the game's actually released will be a huge clusterfuck as well. Might have to wait a week after it's released to play it properly.

hence that is why the final product is not out today and why it is called a beta
on most occasions servers won't be hit with a massive influx of people all at one time like what happens on launch
games these days are constantly fixed/patched through their lifecycle .... releasing the PC at a later date than the console version has nothing to do with what they learn over the next few days

impossible to say
ex. I pre-ordered at Gamestop the week the game was announced
they gave a code immediately (printed on the receipt) that you entered on Bungie.net
it wasn't till last week that Bungie starting sending out emails directing you to go back to their site to obtain your download code
regardless, if you don't get the code for early access the beta is open for PS4 and XB1 starting Friday

Got to play a little bit last night(strike and the story mission), and have to say I am pretty disappointed. Everything feels so slow. Movement speed feels off, jumping feels terrible. Supers/abilities/grenades take WAY to long to recharge, weapons feel pretty blah, ammo is damn near impossible to find. It feels like trickle is a permanent modifier. But hey, at least the game looks pretty. As of now I am going to be skipping D2, unless some major things change.

Graphics are amazing and that's with me on 1080p set and not our 4K HDR set.
Gameplay is interesting. The shield changes dynamics in game and in MP too. Also, the level designs are definitely larger in scope. The strike is different too since it has a lot of tiered vertical elements.

I only had a chance to play through the story mission, but I also thought the jumping felt off. But I couldn't tell if that was just me since it's been so long since I played Destiny, or the game. But it sounds like it might be the game. The shooting seemed fine, but the weapons felt weak. I kept going back to the hand cannon, which I almost never used in D1. So far I'm just kind of meh on it, but I hope that changes once I put a little more time into it over the next couple days. Looking forward to trying out the strike next.

Played the story mission on two characters. Graphics great, basic weapons not so much. Got trapped in the terrain once but enjoyed the mission.
Looking forward to redoing the story mission as well as the strike.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
Got home from vacation last night and played for about an hour. Ran through the story mission all 3 times to unlock the classes and exotics. As others have mentioned, something definitely feels off with the jumping.
As for the weapons being underpowered, keep in mind you're running the mission at 200 light and the recommended level is 210. I wasn't wowed by any of the exotics, but it's such a small sample size I'm not too worried.
Only played 3 casual PVP matches and got stomped all 3 times by full fireteams. They need to address the recharge rate of supers. Didn't get to use one once in the PVP matches. If I wanted straight up gunplay I'd just go play COD.
Didn't get a chance to play the strike yet so hopefully some people will be around tonight for that.

I think the Sunshot exotic hand cannon is fun (only played on Hunter and Titan thus far)
as for supers and recharge rate, I think some of this will be address with "charges supper faster" perks

Hopefully Bungie can do something about that.

From this week at Bungie
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/46077
"The PVE game tuning has changed pretty significantly since the Beta build was deployed. The nature of a Beta of this scale requires that it’s based off a build of the game that is now months old. So, in many cases, your feedback is helping us validate changes that were previously made based on internal feedback and playtesting. For example, we too felt that ammo (especially power ammo) was too scarce in PvE. In addition to retuning the drop rates, we built a system that guarantees power ammo drops for you and your Fireteam from certain enemies, giving power weapons a more reliable and predictable role in your arsenal. Other areas where we’ve made significant tuning changes include grenade effectiveness in PvE, Boss vitality, and weapon damage against non-player combatants."
So it sounds like alot of peoples complaints, are all ready being address

played this until Ghaul kicked me to my death. fun. pretty. Didn't really know what I was doing except shooting and killing. Don't know what powers or whatever I have. is the D1 SP similar type game play?

Thought it was fun, but didn't really feel much different than Destiny to me. Felt like the next add-on. Still, of course, I bought it.

Pretty much the same as Destiny with some different super powers... couldn't wait to get to the end of the beta, uninstalled and not buying into the hype again.

Cool trailer. I actually like 4v4 (probably from my Days playing Halo). Less than 4 weeks away. I’m trying to hold off on playing until I get home in the early afternoon launch day but I know I’m not going to be able to resist firing it up at midnight.

With the rolling starts, your midnight will still be my 10pm. So you should probably wait until 2am to start.
