Did your store have an orderly line or was it just kind of a free-for-all once the doors opened?

They actually came out ahead of time and handed out claim slips to people who were in line. They ask what you're waiting for (most people are looking for this or Hatchimals I think) and give you a slip. If there are more people in line than what they have on hand, they will let you know.

Then you just walk into customer service with your slip and pick it up. Very easy and orderly.

Thanks for the info Obi. I was just imagining what it would be like on a normal morning when there wasn't an orderly line. Good to know they're keeping them off the floor.

Go wireless on Dec 16th.

http://www.t3.com/news/nes-mini-clas...ler-capability

Well, that was fast. The NES Mini Classic has just had its one major problem fixed, with the NES30 Classic Edition Set allowing wireless controller use.

The NES30 Classic Edition Set, however, comes with a NES30 wireless controller and Retro Receiver for the NES Mini Classic, allowing you to lose the wires all together.

What's more, the Retro Receiver allows you to use any 8Bitdo controller or arcade stick, as well as any wireless current gen controller - such as the DualShock 4 - too, meaning you can game with whatever you like.

Multiple controllers are also supported, the whole system is lag free and, neatly, you can return to the NES Mini Classic's home screen by pressing DOWN and SELECT.

The controller? It's up for pre-order at $40 from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MTQ9QPB

66% the price of the console itself, but that isn't a surprise.

The "Down + Select" feature to return to the home menu was a smart addition.

It's a misleading title. It's not a new system. It's a $40 accessory for a $60 system. Yeah, no.

Nintendo has nothing to do with it, the wireless isn't licensed and is from a HK company that makes knock off controllers.

When Wal-Mart restocked a couple of weeks back, I was online right when it went live and managed to add one to my cart. Of course it sold out before I could check out. I'd love to get it, but I'm not gonna drive myself nuts trying to track it down. I'll find it eventually.

Even if you did order from Walmart, I heard they took more orders than they had anyway and people have to wait.

I'm going to dive in here with much of the same sentiment. I know a lot of people are bailing on getting this and I'm now officially on that boat too. I didn't care about the limited games and I didn't care that the wire was too short or any other problems people initially had with it. I was really excited for this and Nintendo completely fucked it up by creating this supply shortage. The shelves should be overflowing with this. I was ready to buy one for myself and buy 3 more for Christmas gifts and that's not happening. Even when this thing becomes readily available, I'm not going to buy it. Nintendo fucked this up royally.

Pretty much how I feel about this as well. Nintendo had an opportunity to make a boat load of cash due to member berries and they failed miserably.

I agree with your sentiment Goat, and to build on it, my enthusiasm for the Switch has now been dampened as well. With the prospect of a launch Mario game and a Zelda game not far behind, I was pretty sure I'd do what I could to get it on launch day. Now, unless I can get an easy pre-order or see it in store, I'm not chasing that one down either. I'm tired of this chase crap. I've got too many other games and other choices for entertainment to frustrate myself.

Yeah same here. Don't really have plans to get it but I've come in this thread a few times since release so I obviously have some interest. If the shelves were stocked probably would have impulse bought one for myself/as a gift for my 12 year old.

So can someone help me decide on one of the RetroGaming Raspberry Pis on ebay? I'm really lost when it comes to those things.

If you're planing to DIY it, https://www.amazon.com/CanaKit-Raspb.../dp/B01C6Q2GSY is a pretty good kit.

Thanks what I did. It was very easy to setup and then install RetroPie. You don't have to be that tech savvy to do it.

So those kits with it pre-installed on the Pi and with controllers is not really worth it?

Thanks for the info BTW.

Just read a report that some Gamestops stores received zero NES shipments.

Sigh Nintendo.
