Inside (from creators of Limbo)

Finished. I think it's a little overrated. It's a decent platformer and the puzzles are decent but not particularly difficult, but while it's a bit of a mind trip I felt dissatisfied and let down at the end. It was a cute enough experience, I suppose.

Re: Inside (from creators of Limbo)
Just finished it about 30 minutes ago.
I agree with you. It's a beautiful game (maybe not as colorful as I would have preferred, but no big deal). I only got stumped on 2 or 3 puzzles, which took some minor thought to figure out. The escape at the end was ridiculously easy, but
I'd say the end is no better or worse than Limbo, which is satisfactory I guess.
I recommend it. Worth the $20 for sure.
Not sure if/when I'll go back for the collectibles and the "secret" ending.

Re: Inside (from creators of Limbo)
Yeah - I accidentally found one (my only achievement points even after completing the game), and never came across another. I just watched the alternate ending on YouTube and left it at that (pretty underwhelming). Nonetheless, I loved the game overall and I have no problems paying $20 for the overall experience. Despite the overall aesthetic and mechanical similarities to Limbo, I felt like they brought it to such a higher level that it didn't feel like the same game at all. I haven't been that immersed in such a simple game since The Swapper.

I read some analysis of the game, including that secret ending. Fascinating stuff. Borderline brilliant in a way.
I might need to play it again sooner than later.

I found all but like 2 or 3 of the collectibles on my first play through. They were way easier to find then the ones in Limbo. Anytime you saw a yellow cord you just followed it back to it's source and there it was.

More about the narrative of the game here. HUGE SPOILERS.
The more I think about this game, the more I'm loving it. I was underwhelmed before because I pretty much just raced through it.

Well, as the thread starter, I finally got around to playing this game. I just got a PS4 this week and this was the first game I played. LOVED the atmosphere and found the whole thing a lot of fun. It wasn't particularly difficult, but this kind of game is totally my wheelhouse as I said in the OP. I wasn't going for any trophies, but picked up 5 of them on my first play through mostly thinking I was just going where I was supposed to in the game. I will probably get around to looking for the rest of them. Well worth the $14 I paid.

I bought this today and played it for about an hour. Only died once in that hour and only had one place that really required me to think a bit. It's a beautiful game and I am really enjoying it, but afraid at this pace I will fly through this game in no time.

^ You will. It's pretty short. But when you get to the final section, take some time to think about it. As in... WHY did this happen, and what does the ending really mean. That sort of thing.
Damn, I love this game. I need to replay it again.

Or buy him a $20 card and tell him it's for this game. Might be better than putting in your credit card info into his account, even if you don't save that info.

Exactly. When I was having issues with my XBL subscription over the summer and called their support line, they had records of three different credit cards that I had used with them in the past, even though I don't keep any on file. Now I just buy digital codes from Amazon anytime I want to buy something.

Re: Inside (from creators of Limbo)
Well I completed it and it was brilliant throughout. Didn't take me long at all. The next day I played it again and completed it in about 90 mins. I certainly have a theory about that ending and it was very cool, but I can understand people getting pissed off with it.
I would seriously love to see another in this series, especially something that would be longer. This is an awesome game all round, even though it's short and pretty easy.
Also I found the bunker in the cornfield second time around. Need to play it again to get the rest of the reactors dismantled.
