Re: Resident Evil 7

Spoiler:
Got past father in Chainsaw duel. That block button is what saved my life. You know those clues they give you in load up screen really are helpful. Lol. In the yard now. Feel like it's opening up slowly but surely. Like that aspect. Really liking the game. It feels RE somewhat but could have been a whole nother franchise to be honest. Can't wait for reveal...

Re: Resident Evil 7

Forgot to mention I best the Daughters DLC - while way, way, too damn short (I was just bitching about game length a while ago - yeah, I like my games short but not this damn short) it was still solid.

The DLC's aren't worth the money though - not at all.

Looking forward to the free, full on "not a hero" DLC

Re: Resident Evil 7

I yearn to play this but I have less and less time and windows to do it. Really is a great game, but also interested in Bulletstorm. Decisions...

Re: Resident Evil 7

The "Not A Hero" DLC, which I guess is the quasi-sequel where you play Chris Redfield was delayed until the end of the year - the line given is that they're "making it better", and it'll still be free, so that's cool. And there's supposed to be one more piece of DLC after that one too. So hold on to your discs!

Meanwhile, here's a fun little sketch...

Re: Resident Evil 7

I'm not giving this disc up anyway - love this game (well, up until you get to the ship anyway).

I'm thinking the not a hero DLC was just to short and they wanted to add onto it.

Re: Resident Evil 7

I've been waiting to see if they were going to release a complete edition with all of DLC. Or maybe they'll wait until next year and do a GOTY version or something.

Wow! This morning, I was so close to buying this game on the Microsoft store when I thought, "They'll probably release a GOTY edition..." and held off.

Seriously, are there going to be a GOTY or definitive editions for every AAA game? I've held off on Horizon Zero Dawn, too.

Re: Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil had a season pass, and the past games have also gotten Gold Editions, so this makes sense. Horizon doesn't have a season pass but will have story DLC packs, so I wouldn't count on that one any time soon.

Re: Resident Evil 7

Weird that they'd get a new voice actor for Chris Redfield. Considering we have had the same guy for MvsC3, MvsC: Infinite, RE5, RE6, RE: The Mercenaries, RE: The Darkside Chronicles, and RE: Revelations. And MvsC: Infinite came out just recently too. Weird.

Wonder if this is even the real Chris? Wouldn't put it past Capcom to do something like that. Really liked Roger Craig Smith as Chris Redfield.

It's because when it was being made the voice actors strike was going on so they had to use someone else.

Re: Resident Evil 7

Looks lame. It reminds me more of a Metro game than Resident Evil.

Kind of let down by that footage - looks like a full-on sci-fi game

Re: Resident Evil 7

Looks like it's just a first-person shooter in the game's existing environments, which is probably why it's free.

Re: Resident Evil 7

Just a heads up on a pricing error, Best Buy has the Gold Edition up for preorder for $29.99 (MSRP is $49.99). Also stacks with GCU.

EDIT: and dead.

Re: Resident Evil 7

The not a hero DLC was decent - it looks like the delay was due to it being way too short - I get the feeling they added the extra corridors and boss battle (which is actually great) to extend the experience. It doesn't add much to the story and you'll be done with it in about 45 minutes.

I have no urge to play the end of zoe dlc - it looked cool at first as you play her uncle but I couldn't get over how you only use punches to kill enemies - you even body slam and power bomb them - it just looked to ridiculous and it's also super short.

Minus the dlc - this was my game of the year - even over the evil within 2 and outlast 2.

Re: Resident Evil 7

Overall, how long is the main campaign and story DLC? I was thinking of buying it on Steam, but held off when I read it was a short game.

It's funny how things change. I used to be of the same mindset and now I've totally gone the other way. I don't having enough gaming margin in my schedule to tackle 40+ hour campaigns, so when I hear a game is short, it actually becomes more appealing to me. I haven't played a RE game since RE4 Wii Edition, but this one has been on my radar since it came out. I have some other games to finish first though.

Re: Resident Evil 7

g-damn, if this game ain't creepy as hell. Really gets tense with the limited light, even more limited ammo for everything and those freaky oil creatures, not to mention mama and papa thus far...

Not long, about 7 hours or so but I highly recommend taking it in and stopping to collect all the sheets on what happened and why - I wish the creators actually incorporated more of video of what was on the collectible journals/sheets as well - it's a cool story of how good and evil play of off each other.

Definitely longer than 7 hours. The main game alone is 9 to 10 hours even if not going for collectibles and than another 3 or 4 hours for the DLC.

Re: Resident Evil 7

It says my play time is 104:33’18” what the hell does that even mean? 104 hours? They can’t be accurate...
