I finally broke down and bought this, I know it isn't being overlooked but it feels like it should be more popular than it is. This game is great so far.

In terms of difficulty, are the 5 campaign stories basically the same level? Can I start off with the 5th story and not be overwhelmed? Or should I do the stories in order?

I have the settings on "Easy" because I want to enjoy the game. I played the tank story first because it's listed as first (or it implies it, I forget). From there, I picked the one that looked the most fun, so I did the pilot story first. Haven't done the other ones, yet. Too busy. As for difficulty, it looks like each story has you exercise a different skill set. That means the tank story is about helping you learn how to navigate, repair, and fire with a tank, and the pilot story is about how to fly, bomb, and fire with a plane. In some ways, they're like entertaining tutorials to help you do better with elements of multiplayer.

I played the campaign following what appeared to be the stories in order (left side of the map to the right). I found this enjoyable as the on foot levels got broken up every couple of stories with one of the vehicle levels. The tank and the airplane are fine, but i much preferred the on foot levels. The two levels that i found to be outstanding were the level where you have to steal parts from the village to repair the tank, and the desert level where you infiltrate the small town and outlaying areas. Both had options to either go in blasting or take a stealth approach, and i always like having these options open in a FPS game.

You can start anywhere. The difficulty doesn't increase from story to story. I actually thought the tank story overall was one of the harder ones (if you include completeing it on hard difficulty and doing all the challenges). But they're all fairly easy, and as was already mentioned, more to introduce you to some of the elements in the multiplayer.

The new maps are great. But the grenade spam is driving me nuts. The auto-regenerating grenades are a big mistake.
Is anyone else still playing this game?

I read about the auto ammo thing... I hate that idea. Part of the strategy of the game is to pick up fallen weapons or use re-supply from a teammate.

I beat the single play campaign tonight. I thought it was pretty easy on the hard difficulty. Fun game though, all 6 stories were a blast to play through.

Been a while since i played it. Only level that i recall off hand being outside the tank was the one where you had to go into the village and find the parts to repair your tank. I didn't find it all that hard. Just take it slow, use the binoculars to scout out whats ahead and be cautious. Set some traps around as well. Also that trick of flicking a bullet to get someones attention comes in handy a lot of times.

yeah you got to go off the side of the road and then sneak in and distract the enemy. then you can run up and knife them. I think there was a gun with a silencer in one of the crates that helped me a lot at that point.
the rest of the game is so good its worth dying a bunch to get past that part

I've never really been one for those videos where someone records themselves watching a trailer or reveal, but if I were to record myself during this and it in any way, shape, or form also revealed Battlefield Bad Company 3 you would all witness me pretty much explode, Scanners-style.
There's a general Battlefield thread, too, where this could be announced though it's been quiet for a while.
Edit: Technically, that's a PS3 thread, or at least that's what it was. Perhaps a thread title change would make it more general. Maybe it doesn't matter.

...and saw something in regards to "No Pay-To-Win Content Either". It was announced last week with all the Rage 2 hype there would be no Loot Boxes (all the complaining & griping that it brings) would be in the game. And now DICE with this revelation. Makes you wonder if the gaming industry is slowly tilting away from that agenda. FWIW...Warframe has used this for years and not only hasn't hurt them but when the game came out on the PS4 at launch, there were 8 million players....today well over 37 million for PC, PS4 and XB. The model of "Pay-to-Win" doesn't need to be there. Bravo to DICE....
I've also have been reading on the co-op mode which I did not know about. Reading thru this story from SreenRant ( https://screenrant.com/battlefield-v...combined-arms/ ) I found this intriguing and a excellent idea from DICE...for better than what's happening with COD...
Electronic Arts announced that their World War II shooter Battlefield V will be built around three key pillars, one of which is a new cooperative mode. Called Combined Arms, this multiplayer cooperative mode will support up to four players online. Each will be a paratrooper, and they'll attempt to take on dangerous missions together.
In order to keep 'Combined Arms' feeling fresh and always evolving and growing, the first-person shooter will employ a unique mission generator that will create dynamic narratives and objectives at random. This should ensure a different type of challenge each time the co-op mode is played, even if it's on the same map repeatedly. In theory, this sounds similar to what Turtle Rock Studios and Valve used in their hit four-player cooperative first-person shooter Left 4 Dead.
DICE described the mode's inclusion as a "safe haven" for players that will serve as a middle-ground between the cinematic solo campaign and the hectic 64-player competitive modes. They're hoping that new players will get used to the game's sandbox-style of play in co-op and then move onto the more complicated multiplayer. Considering that the game has had difficulty teaching players its more complex intricacies in the past, this seems like a sound strategy - and one that will also give players an engaging experience with their friends.
