Overwatch from Blizzard (May for PC, Xbox One & PS4)

Re: Overwatch from Blizzard (May for PC, Xbox One & PS4)
I agree that the killing seems inconsequential and only some characters can sprint but I like the variation in the characters. It makes the game fresh to me that you can choose from so many characters and what you choose changes your play style. I was a little unsure in the beginning but I am having fun with it now.
Widowmaker and D. VA FTW!

there are faster characters: tracer, soldier 76, lucio
When i kill someone all i want to see the the little skull with their name pop up!
all the platforms have their own servers, right? like PC only play against PC; xbox only vs xbox and ps4 only vs ps4?

Yeah, there's no cross platform play.
Speed is subjective, it may feels slow at first but that's because it helps differentiate the different characters who rely on speed and movement as their powers like Dave said. Especially as you learn the maps and find ways to flank, walls you can climb, areas you can jump over, shortcuts, etc.
As for kills being unsatisfying, the game is balanced so that it's not just about being able to 1 v 1 and killing one other person since each character has different counters, but the the gratification is in winning big team battles at the major points. In my opinion, the right ultimate to either wipe 3-4 of the other team or even save your own team to capture the point/payload is more thrilling then killing one guy. Or even as a support character, saving your entire team with a resurrection, heal, or invulnerability. It's a different mentality then people just used to Deathmatch or CoD/Battlefield type play.
That, or at the end of the day it isn't for everyone

Competitive Play, more Heroes, more Maps, improvements to progression, play of the game, brawls, etc.

If i can get 3 enemy players chasing me around away from the objective for 30 seconds, i count that as more valuable than a kill since it allows my team time to get stuff done.
I watched my daughter play a bunch on xbox yesterday. she's usually Tracer and way better as Tracer than I am. I kept trying to direct her to flanking paths since i knew the maps way better than her. Its great when you pop out a side passage and see the other team looking the other way

I started playing this today on the Xbox One. It took fucking forever to install last night.
I can't really say much about it, love the idea, have some hang ups. Really glad there are a lot of extremely terrible players, as a mediocre one myself it makes me feel much better about my gaming skills.

I got to see this in action last night for the first time...grandson's internet was down and he just got the game. I have to say Blizzard did an extremely nice job on the characters and maps....not too serious & realistic....sort of like Borderlands...yet more polished. What's the word of future DLC and types of play coming? It seems they can really afford to add a full Players vs AI assault/defend mode....a.k.a Gears Horde style in the mix. Pretty impressive with loads of possibilities. I'd like to see them do something like Epic is doing with Paragon, a new character every 3 weeks but they have a good selection now.

I've been playing at Road Hog a lot lately. he can be a beast with a good team. i've watched my daughter play a ton; usually as Tracer. I'll have to never play against her since she would never let me live it down if she was able to beat me, haha.

Just as long as she didn't get Play of the Game.

I am no good with Tracer...her low hit points and weak damage are tough. I seem to do best with Reaper or McCree in the attackers category.
I am glad Torbjorn is getting nerfed on consoles...that turret is ridiculous.

my daughter can get up to 30 kills a game with Tracer. You have to sneak around and attack the team from behind. And you need to be quick with the time rewind power so you wont die. I cant do it; i'm too slow.
what nerf is the turret getting? less damage per hit, slower attack speed or less hit points?

All Mercy/Pharah brawl is ridiculous.

I had that problem in the beginning. I am pretty comfortable playing at least one character from each of the 4 "classes" in order to try and be a team player.
Widowmaker pisses me off....everyone can one-shot me but my shots (even head) do about 60% damage. I'm also awful at Lucio.

I found it useful to learn at least one character of each type so you have someone to switch to for better team compositions.

I usually pick character based on the map and if we're attacking or defending

Played some more the other day - basically playing all the characters I hadn't already played. And nope, still found it rather boring. I just don't get the appeal.
