Casey Powell Lacrosse 16.

Lacrosse video game dreamers, listen up. Casey Powell Lacrosse 16 is available for download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam platforms starting Wednesday.

The game, which costs $50, is a product of Crosse Studios, founded by former Robert Morris player and current volunteeer assistant coach Carlo Sunseri, and Australian-based game developer Big Ant Studios. Powell, the lone American to ever win MLL and NLL MVP honors, graces the cover. Scott Hochstadt, a former Maryland player and one of the founders of the LXM Pro Tour, is part of the production group as well.

Sunseri has the led the creation of several other lacrosse games in the past and held many fundraising campaigns to get them to market.

As of 11 a.m. ET Wednesday, the game was available for digital download on Xbox One and Steam, with PlayStation 4 expected to be available later Wednesday.

"Casey Powell Lacrosse 16 is all about the lacrosse fans," Sunseri said. "We've pushed the lacrosse visuals, gameplay depth, and features to a jaw-dropping level. At the end of the day, without the support of the lacrosse community, this game would have never been a reality."

There is career, online, exhibition and game competition, and the ability create and share custom teams and players. In career mode, players and coach options are available. Users can upload and download created teams and players to an online library for community use.

Powell, who was Lacrosse Magazine's guest editor last October, said he's thrilled to be the face of the game and that it was a "no-brainer" to join Hochstadt and Sunseri "to help bring this project to the next level."

"CP16 is set to have a major impact on the game of lacrosse as it combines entertainment, education, and exposure, and certainly will push the needle for our sport," Powell said. "Our team [Carlo, Scott, and Big Ant] is all about growing the game and giving lacrosse players an awesome product. ... It will also bring exposure of our sport to non-lacrosse players who may now play the game worldwide."

ESPN play-by-play man Eamon McAnaney, a LM contributor, provides the commentary.

"I was definitely pumped to be a part of Powell Lacrosse 16," McAnaney said. "After watching my sons play Madden and NBA2K I can only imagine what having an opportunity to play a lacrosse video game will do as far as creating fans with a passion for the sport. You can tell on social media that lacrosse fans are fired up to play but maybe it can bring the sport to a whole new audience."
