For what it's worth, even the regular edition comes with the 360 Gears games, it's not unique to this Ultimate Edition.
It's basically the same retail price as the base game plus season pass from what I can tell, but you do get the steelbook plus early access to the game.
EDIT: Actually, looking it up the standalone season pass price is $50.

The ONLY good thing about the UE, is you can get it at BB for $79.99 (GCU) and it comes with a $10 certificate. But I imagine it will be cheaper than that a couple months afterwards, just like Halo 5.

Physical versions of the game are eligible for Amazon Prime's pre-order discount, 20% off for some of the more expensive editions is nice.

Compare that to Forza Horizon 3 where that extra $32 got you the Steelbook, Car Pass, VIP pass and 10 bonus car pack. That seems like a lot more content for the same premium.

Don't get me wrong, I think either way is a bad deal. This game still looks boring as hell to me. I plan on picking it up from the library to play through the campaign and that's about it. I can't justify paying full price to play horde mode. I tried running through the remastered GOW and couldn't do it. This franchise doesn't scratch that itch for me anymore.

yea...I watched the new footage mainly to see this new enemy. It did look good while maintaining that GOW look and feel. Might be grabbing a new X1...the first GOW was the reason why I upgraded from Xbox to the 360.

Gears of War 4 Sheds Light On Seriously 4.0, Ranks And Re-ups
The requirements for Seriously 4.0 are as follows:
The Re-up system returns, but where Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition only had three re-ups, Gears of War 4 will have 10 re-ups. The Re-up tier you're in is shown by a small gem next to your Gamertag. The developer's explanation for this method of display is as follows:
Skill Ranks are a new addition to the game in order to make matches more even for players. There will be five ranks (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Onyx and Diamond) with three tiers each. Ranks for a playlist are earned by completing five placement matches in a playlist and will change based on your match results. If you're consistently winning matches, your chances to promote increase, but consistently losing will net you a demotion. The ideal rank is found when you win about as many matches as you lose. There are also some tweaks based on beta feedback, such as the increase of rank update frequency and balancing of the amount of players who have a specific rank. There will also be an unranked 'Social' playlist, which is a medley of all maps and modes. Players will be able to vote for the next map and mode after every match.

Since we’re dealing with a very small area to show your current Re-Up, we went with a tiered approach that starts off simple with a flat gem, increasing in complexity, detail and presence as you climb through the Re-Ups.

Re: Gears of War 4 (XBox One, 2016)
Guessing it is just Best Buy being glitchy, but they updated the release date to 10/7? Got an e-mail stating this, and when I go their site most of the editions are now stating 10/7. Would be nice but highly doubt it of course.

I know it seems a lot of people seem bored or over the whole Gears of War style, but I've liked what i've seen so far, both single and multiplayer.

Re: Gears of War 4 (XBox One, 2016)
I just noticed something at the end of that video. For the Ultimate Edition it says, "Plus one year of unlimited map access, bonus gear packs, and more." So with the wording it sounds like the Ultimate Edition won't even include ALL of the maps, just the ones offered through the first year. That's kinda bullshit.

At least two per month (for 12 months), for private play on dedicated servers.
Meaning the 12 months is the interval across which they'll be dispersing the maps, not the limitation to how long you can own them. Either way, they really should clarify this.

Re: Gears of War 4 (XBox One, 2016)
I might end up playing this on the PC now....
We had to order a new PC to replace our aging HP (7yrs old) and it's more of a Gaming PC than anything...from Cyberpower. Might be hope still for a Xbox One S but the PC version is a good shot. I still have plenty of friends in XBL which is what I was looking for....nothing better than GoW Horde with friends....

Unless something changes, there's planned cross play for Gears of War 4 so theoretically you could play on PC with XBox friends.
