They also fixed a lot of issues that were wrong with the game when it first came out, like distance of the camera from the player/perspective, some control issues and other things. They pretty much addressed most of the negative criticisms a few months after the game had been out, but it didn't matter because the reviews were already negative and didn't get amended.

Game looks great, and character models are amazing. 60 FPS really makes it a better game. I personally enjoyed Resident Evil 6 a lot, and feel it was underrated. I know people who loved the older games found the game went too far with the action, but if you can get over that there is a lot to love here. You get 4 complete campaigns, each 5-7 hours long. I think most of the hate comes from the second campaign, because it has non stop action, and really does feel out of place. The first campaign is good, the third and 4th are amazing. I also love how each campaign connects with the other chapters, with the 4th campaign mixing in and out of the first 3.
Also the controls are near perfect. If you take the time to master them you will feel like a badass even on the highest difficulty. Mix in with that extra game modes like mercenaries that add a lot to the game and you get an amazing value for 20 bucks.

Maybe Capcom can pay these guys for the exceedingly impressive work they've been doing in improving RE4's textures in their own HD update, like finding the actual real world locations to take HD pictures of to use. I mean, Capcom's pinned their progress on that Steam board, so why not, right?

I am about halfway into Res 5 on ps4...and honestly don't expect much of an upgrade on RE4...I mean it will run smooth and look about as good as it can, but there have been no other upgrades I can tell on Resident Evil 5..

Re: Resident Evil 4, 5, 6 (PS4/XB1)
So far I'm enjoying Resident Evil 6 far more than I did the first time around. Resident Evil 5 still looks pretty nice for a game that is seven years old. The only issue I am having so far is the audio, and it is ruining the experience as I can only hear sound if my character is facing the direction that the sound is coming from. It's pretty annoying to walk into an empty room and smash a barrel, turn around then jarringly hear gunfire and see Sheva surrounded by enemies. I also don't hear any dialogue during the cutscenes or during gameplay. I have adjusted settings on the Xbox and my TV to no avail, so I'm going to uninstall the game and try again.
I'm stoked that RE4 is being re-released. Aside from potentially being my favorite game of all time, I've been recording my gameplay and it's much easier on HD consoles. I don't have component cables for my GameCube, I no longer have a Wii, both of my 60GB PS3's now have the YLOD and the optical drive on my 80GB recently crapped out after eating RE4.
