Well according to that site, even at Lvl 7 his abilities still only attack a single target. Not sure why he's able to wipe out my whole squad with 1 single blow. Unless it's not the character I'm thinking of. Pretty sure it is though.

Oh, that one. I'm pretty sure they gave him a special ability for that mission. You just need to destroy his droids to give you some health back after he does that big hit that drains everyone to 1HP. It actually mentions this in the details window before you start the mission.

Yeah, that's it. I know it mentions to use the droids to heal. The only other thing it says is 'utilize susceptibilty', whatever that is. Apparently it means bend over and lube up.

I just did that challenge again to be sure it was him, his very first strike does over 6000 damage to everybody in my squad.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Not sure why you are having such trouble with it. My guys are no where near as strong as yours and I can do Tier 2 with no issues with only 3 characters. His hit may do a lot of damage (again pretty sure it's just a hit that brings everyone down to 1HP no matter their current HP), but you should have people to heal (since its for healers/support) on top of the droids as well.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Now that I realize it's a designed mechanic, I know how to counter it. For some reason the first couple times I tried it, he was able to kill off my characters before I was able to heal. He usually pulls off that super attack more than once before I kill him. Before last night, I only had 2 characters to attempt that encounter with (no support characters).

Ah yeah, 2 characters would definitely make it a bit more challenging. Glad you figured it out.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Finally got Luke after grinding out the Squad Cantina battles. He seems like he'll be pretty good.

Why the hell isn't there a Jedi Luke though? They even show him and Vader battling on the title screen.

Also, apparently the dev's don't consider Leia to be human, since she's missing that tag. She's just listed as "Rebel, Attacker".

Lumiara is 6* now. Level 60 (as I march slowly towards 70), with maxed Level VII gear (need to be 65 before Level VIII). Her Healing is at Level 6, which makes it insanely efficient. Her power is 4116 now! She will be 7* in no less than 8 days through GW and shard farming. I simply cannot wait!

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

I dunno about GW, I find it such an excruciating grind to fight Chewbacca + 2-3 healers one after another. It's just Arena but with more matches to do. I was really expecting more to that mode.

It helps you learn strategy for Arena in a manner that isn't timed or tied necessarily to one team.

For taunt tanks like Chewie, you'll find that you want to either block their ability before they fire it off or clear that buff. Non-tank targets are definitely higher priority.

I finished my third one today so I'm pretty stoked as it's definitely the most lucrative mode!

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

I've been spending my crystals to refresh energy twice a day (50 per) and that's been pretty great. But I find myself slowing building a surplus and now am at a crossroads.

Should I also start spending 100 once a day to refresh the Cantina because it's so slow otherwise to generate shards or should I hold them for single (or packs of) Chromium cards even though my one and only 8x pack was highly underwhelming?

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

The chewbacca fights are the only ones I can win

So far my 2 GW experiences have been exactly the same... I roll right through the first 6 battles, cuz they almost all consist of the standard starter characters (Chewbacca, Jedi Consular, Talia, etc) with the occasional lucky drop bonus character thrown in there... and then I reach the 400 War Token threshold, and the next opponent is 2 levels above me using squad synergies and a completely unique lineup that proceeds to wipe out every character I throw at it.

400 Tokens is my target for now, just so I can buy shards. Anything else I would consider a bonus until I can level up some more.

But I agree, I thought that mode would include something more than just battling back to back to back to back. I do like it a little more than Arena though because you can see the whole squad you're about to face, not just the leader.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

I figured I would use this thread to keep track of my progress in the game week by week and also to get some group think on where I'm at and where I should go. Again, without guys like Pinata and Roy and I would have given up by now. Your advice and allies have been a lifesaver.

End of Week 1
Level 42

Characters (Unlocked)

CW Chewie *3/L5
ST Han *3/L4
Jedi Consular 3*/L4
Talia 3*/L5
Jawa 3*/L5
Greedo 2*/L5
Royal Guard 2*/L4 (will not level past 40)
Clone Sgt. 2*/L3 (I keep getting shards for this guy) (same)
Snowtrooper 2*/L3 (same) (will not level past 35)
FO TIE Pilot 1*/L4 (I actually really like this guy)
Genosian Solider 1*/L4
IG-86 Sentinel Droid 1*/L4

Not Actively Leveling
Ewok Scout (L25)
NS Acolyte (L1)
LS Initiate (L1)

Actively Farming:

Luke (46/50)
Darth Sidious (55/80)
Lumi (23/50)
Poe (15/50)
Fives (18/50)
Vader (46/80)

Present POA:

- Train as appropriate to maintain top 500 area ranking (I am typically in high 200s but cannot crack 200 as is)
- Cont. farming Luke to unlock
- Cont. farming DS (GW) to unlock
- Cont. farming Poe (Cantina) to unlock
- Cont. farming GS to raise * level
- Cont. farming IG-86 to raise * level (already at 12/15 somehow)
- Cont. farming TIE to raise * level
- Bring all active characters to L5 gear (some are limited by progress in battles which have not opened gear yet)

Oh, I get how to handle them, I just find the fights to be a drag, since it basically means they have like 2x the HP if two healers get off their heals before I can kill him. Maybe it would help if like you said I had a way to block or clear the buff (since I have Luke now I can sometimes get his to fire off, but not often enough to be reliable).

I would save for 8 pack chrome. Even if you don't get a character drop you are likely to get shards that will help, if only to raise up some characters you can use as a suicide squad for GW.

Also, even though it's a terrible ROI, you could use crystals to buy character shards if you are really close to raising * level.

Damn Josh, level 42 and 15 characters after only a week? Did you spend any money? Man I only have 10 characters and it's been more than a week for me.

I just play every bit of available energy I have and have used crystals for refreshes. I was also very selective about who I played in Arena for guaranteed wins to increase rank. I also made sure I completed all daily tasks for extra crystals. I saved enough for the 8 chrome pack which got me TIE and some other worthless shards. Otherwise, once I figured out what I was doing, it was selective farming to maximize what I was doing.

I have bought some $1.99 crystal packs here and there which doesn't really bother me too much so I could refresh battle/cantina.

I'm thinking about buying the Droid Assassin pack for $25. It's a pretty economical use of money and you get some nice characters out of it. But I'm leaning against it because since the other pack expired I feel like they have something else coming. Also, unless you are going to build an all-droid team it seems like end-game not to be worth it.

EDIT TO ADD - Also, AUTO is your friend. It helps you to get much more done quickly since you aren't glued to the screen. i tend to use my SIM tickets as well.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Continuing with my other post, my present regrets are:

- Not realizing until a few days ago that I could have been farming Lumi shards from hard battles I've 3*. I would probably have her by now or at least be closer.
- Wasting catina credits on Fives instead of Poe
- Wasting training droids on characters I will never use end game
- Wasting energy building gear for characters I will never use.

I think the idea to keep in mind with this game is that it is much better to focus on something specific rather than be a jack of all trades. You will improve your team much better in the long run.

For someone like you I would only do it if you are looking for bodies for GW. Otherwise probably not worth the investment.

Now, if the heroines pack was $25 instead of $50, I may do it, just to get Offee. But for $50, no thanks.

Flash, just to reiterate - one of the keys to fast leveling in this game is using crystals for catina and battle refreshes. You will advance much quicker by doing that. You should definitely be in a position at this point to acquire 150 free crystals a day to help with this. If not, shoot for 100 a day so you can at least catina refresh every other day.

Ah, that's a good point. I've been saving this whole time to try and get an 8-pack. Maybe that wasn't the best idea to do early on. I just feel kind of gross spending my crystals on energy refreshing.

I think you should definitely finish saving to get an 8 pack if only for the chance to get a character that you couldn't otherwise through farming. Once you have though, start using for refreshing. I can already tell on my server people who are big spenders are starting to really pull ahead of me. My goal short term is to stay in top 500 as long as I can to get Lumi a few days faster. I should have her by Friday at the latest, if shard drops have a good rate for me maybe Thursday.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

I have to agree. Everyone's goal should be maximizing player level to unlock the higher tier events & challenges. There you get get guaranteed free super gear, mats, and droids. I am getting awesome shit every day from there that I would otherwise have to farm, gear especially.

I feel sick that I realized only yesterday that Sunday has all challenges available.

So, my point is that you should also focus on gaining XP and this will come from spending energy to sim battles. If I had been doing that this whole time, I would have capped at 60 long ago and I'd be knocking on 65 today.
