It doesn't auto complete them... they are the 360 games.

Been focused on Battletoads. The speeder bike level was batshit hard to finish. So glad it has a rewind feature. I would've broken a few nes controllers if i played it as a kid

Re: Rare Replay Thread of How Retro Collections should work

Can someone help me out here, how I am supposed to be able to play the 2 Viva Pinata's and have my old gardens on there? I thought if I put my gardens on the cloud that would do the trick, but apparently not? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Overall loving this collection, especially the snapshot challenges that they have. A couple of those are going to be really a pain to do.

I finally got around to installing these today. Looking forward to checking it out over the next week. I think I'll start with Blast Corps first.

Re: Rare Replay Thread of How Retro Collections should work

I wasn't a Nintendo guy and I've never played any of the games that never made it to the Xbox.
I hadn't heard of Jet Force Gemini. Looks kind of cool, but man it controls awfully. Aiming is damn near impossible when an enemy is shooting at you.

I'm checking out Conker. Actually quite like it. I know it was supposedly a big deal that they used the N64 version and not the Xbox One version. Is the N64 version better?

Did you try the new controls on Jet Force Gemini? Still terrible?

As far as I know, there isn't an Xbox One version. There was a Xbox "remake" that was worse than the N64 version since it was more censored and was missing some features from the original version.

Re: Rare Replay Thread of How Retro Collections should work

Oops I meant Live & Reloaded, the Xbox version. Didn't realize it was a more censored version or that it was missing features.

Jet Force Gemini is at least kinda playable with the newer scheme, but it's pretty bad either way, IMO. Shame too since it's so cute and graphically ahead of its time.

Re: Rare Replay Thread of How Retro Collections should work

imo it's graphically of its time, 1999 was that transitional period (it was sort of a brighter take on MDK). But yeah I see what you mean about the controls, meh.

Re: Rare Replay Thread of How Retro Collections should work

I'm having a lot of fun with this in spurts, especially just trying to get more stamps to unlock the videos that are all nicely done. Boy, the controls in some of the older games feel so floaty to me. I don't know how I played so much RC Pro Am as a kid, as I'm all over the place now.

Legit beating that level as a kid on my NES was a life highlight. The one and only time I've ever felt like I was "in the zone" on anything

I think I'm going to pick this up soon. My kids would probably enjoy a few of these themselves.

Re: Rare Replay Thread of How Retro Collections should work

I never knew there was a Battletoads Arcade game back then, or even recall seeing it in arcades. I've been playing that, but even the controls for that one feels a little less precise then the Konami ones.

Just got this for free as part of the E3 Mixer Mixpot. It'll be interesting to go through all the games.

Re: Rare Replay Thread of How Retro Collections should work

completed JET FORCE GEMINI for the first time.

Even with the patch to add new controls, damn this game was a bitch in the beginning since it has no camera control while moving (which is bullshit!) and slippery character movement. I Had to keep the LEFT TRIGGER down for like 90% of the game since that's the only way to have full control. My GEARS controller is gonna need a new LT soon

Anyway like all Rare games, it's difficult and takes time to master, but I liked it. Too bad it was never remastered/updated on the 360 like BK 1 & 2 and PD.
