Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Re: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands
Well i am addicted to this game now. I am really enjoying the game, its world and the action. Had some amazing firefights. One battle in a large base had me half way through jump in a chopper take off and take on two other choppers. I end up rather quickly getting blown out of the air, but manage to jump out and on the way down my chopper hits both enemy choppers and takes them out. Phenomenal. I am gonna try a co-op this week at some point as i am sure that will be a whole new barrel of fun. Superb game. Will grab the DLC as well (probably grab the Season Pass for this, which i rarely do for games).

Which console are you on?....
I almost regret not staying with this but like so many times before you say, "Hey...I might try this game and see how it is" and the next thing you know it's months later and you never went back with the game you were playing that's gathering dust. I really had a good time with it but never did the solo with AI; it was all co-op which the game shines on. You can play stealthy or guns blazing....just everyone needs to be on the same page.

But i have seriously dug the campaign so far. I can see how some people find doing some of the same things over and over repetitive, but i understand that a game has limitations and pretty much every single game ever created had you repeating things. The updates for the game seem to have helped a lot and thats a relief. But i having so much fun just scoping out sites and trying different methods of taking them down. Its one of the reasons i loved games like The Phantom Pain and Mercenaries. As long as you are willing to be open minded and try using different tactics then the replay value can be really boosted in a game like this. I get the feeling a lot of the people who get bored simply run and gun and don't even bother with stealth tactics.
If you get back online and fancy a co-op then let me know. I believe my handle is jamespowell00

My friend and I still play it from time to time.
Noticed another change they made - - now in co-op mode if one guy tags supplies, everyone gets credit for it. That's something that I wanted ; it was annoying to have to follow my friend from room to room to make sure we both got everything.

Well i have been glued to this game now for the past two weeks and its become one of those games that i spend time thinking of a lot when i am not playing it. I am around Level 25 and i have opened up a great majority of the missions and quests around the map and its daunting in scope. I have collected what seems like a massive armory and when i counted the weapon caches to still get its around 90 something. This game is gonna eat a lot of my life in the next few months. I am still having a blast with it though. I just love trying different ways to get the missions done, and some of the things that happen as a result are amazing. I seriously love this game and reading that it sold very well hopefully means a sequel somewhere down the road.
Oh, and i actually created my character to look like the Scandinavian guy from the Mercenaries game (but with dark hair). This game is very similar at times, and also this for me could easily be seen as the real Just Cause 3 we deserved and not the crap that was shit out for that title.

^ I would have loved this game with that fun, blow everything up attitude. This one with its "Oooh-Rah" Marines talk and strict mission parameters bugs me sometime. Still I do really enjoy playing it with my best friend and trying out different approaches when the first gets our asses killed.

Re: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands
So i reached level 30 and am now using the Tier system. Down to tier 39 and its nice to see the difficulty level notched up. Proving to be a real test now and not as much running and gunning. Loving this game more and more. I keep getting side tracked from the main missions. Trying to collect all weapons, medals and documents before going on to complete.
Update: Well i am down (or is it Up) to Tier 31 and its amazing that i get killed in 1 or 2 shots compared to being able to take a fair amount of damage early on. Lucky i have the chance of resuscitation twice by my team. I am thinking that i should have completed all the main missions before getting onto the Tier system, as i am sure it will make them much harder this way. But this game is a blast and i am actually enjoying being tested.
I am considering getting the Season Pass if its on sale, but $40 seems a lot for not a huge amount of DLC at this stage. Any one have thoughts on its value for money?

Re: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands
So i completed it yesterday. Have completed every boss mission, every mission (except recurring reeources), collected every weapon, part and medal and maxed out all my skills. Also bolsted both my main weapons several levels. I am still only at Tier 23. I will continue to play, but not sure i could make the grind to Tier 1.
I also notice quite a number of weapons that are still unavailable. How many have come wirh DLC as this seems like a large amount (27 rifles alone)? I wouldnt mind continuing on juat to get more of those.
Superb game and cannot wait for a sequel.
Oh, and i still never managed to play a coop game. Might give that a shot.
Update: Got an email the other day that PvP Beta begins this month. That could be cool.

Re: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands
Looks like another DLC is dropping and this might be a real good one....
Ubisoft Teases Predator Special Event For Ghost Recon Wildlands
host Recon Wildlands' upcoming event The Hunt features the mother of all extra terrestrial hunters.
In a new teaser trailer released by Ubisoft, several cartel soldiers shoot wildly into the jungle as they are picked off by an unseen enemy with the recon team's helicopter flying over head. This continues until one member is left, strung up to the top of a tree and brought face to face with the skinned corpses of his comrades. He lets out a scream before the unseen attacker sinks a blade into him. The trailer ends as the digital symbols from the Predator films crawl across the screen, revealing the December 14 launch date of the event.

Re: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands
I had a blast with Wildlands and ended up completing everything in the game. I am certainly in for Predator DLC.
I also do recall seeing that Wildlands sold very well, so hoping that we get a sequel a year or two down the line.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Is Getting The Predator For A Few Weeks

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is getting invaded by Hollywood’s decades-old slayer of Aliens, Predator, starting tomorrow, December 14, and running through the beginning of January. And you thought the politics of the game were complicated already.
The alien hunter will be part of a special challenge where players, either alone or as groups of up to four, will have to survive the onslaught and eventually take down the Predator. According to a post over at Ubisoft’s blog players who succeed will not only get to gloat about having defeated the god-damn Predator but will also get the movie alien’s iconic mask and corresponding heat vision. It’s green and looks more like a hockey mask than an artifact from another planet but at least it comes with dreads.
For anyone who doesn’t remember or is too young and missed the magic that was John McTiernan’s Predator, the movie is about some ex-military dudes who get played by the deep state and end up fighting for their lives in the made-up jungle of Val Verde as an alien tries to skin them alive during his intergalactic vacation. In many ways then it’s a natural fit for a crossover event with Ubisoft’s Bolivia-based tactical shooter.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JqPnApRn4dw" frameborder="0" gesture="media" allow="encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
“The mission is built to recreate some of the tension felt by Dutch and his crew in the original Predator movie, said Nouredine Abboud, a senior producer at Ubisoft, on the company’s blog page. “You first discover hints about the Predator’s presence before actually getting to meet and fight him. Getting that feeling of being swallowed by the surrounding jungle was something we really wanted to convey. And of course, the music takes a big part in creating the tension.”
According to Abboud, Predator will run around, jump through trees, and taunt you from afar. In addition to his heat vision he’ll also have a cloaking device, shoulder cannon and smart disc, the latter of which is most memorable for the time it sliced through Gary Busey in a meat packing plant.
In addition to the free challenge mission, the update adds a presumably not-free“Predator Pack” to the in-game store that includes attacks, weapons, and other customization items inspired by the original movie. More importantly, the Predator event also introduces a new class of soldier based on Dutch, the elite mercenary and guerrilla combat specialist from the movie played by Arnold Schwarzenegger and best known for uttering such classic lines as “If it bleeds we can kill it,” “The bridge is out!” and “Get to the chopper!” This soldier-type will have access to a battle rage mode that will apparently give players the edge they need to kill one another in brutal ways truly reminiscent of the 80s.

I think two of us might get on this weekend and do it though be great to get a team up and make it easier for everyone to get the rewards. I will check out the "Dutch" character in the store. I wish they offered all of the characters especially Ventura's one carrying "Old Painless"...Payback Time!
Also I was looking at the patch notes about two new classes and also some new maps but I cannot tell if most of this is just for PvP or normal play?

Re: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands
Predator is one tough bastard! The guys I was playing with even tried hitting it with cars and it just blew them into oblivion with one shot.
My son is playing now. He's actually doing pretty well using the thermal vision as you can see Predator as soon as he appears no matter what he's behind.

I killed the Predator!
It actually wasn't too hard. Found a good spot around some trees and used thermal vision and kept hitting him with my sniper rifle. The end was pretty funny because my entire squad didn't get out in time when he self destructed. By far one of the coolest DLC tie in pieces I've seen.

I tried to find the Predator DLC on the store and could not find it. I guess i missed it by now. Shame as i was looking forward to it.

Re: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands
It's not in the store, it was just updated automatically in the game. And then you need to go to Caimanes. I just flew a helicopter around until I got a new mission notification. I didn't know how to start it either until I looked it up on You Tube.
Now the one thing I'm not certain is how much longer it's going on for. You get some pretty cool outfits though if you take him down. I'm running around with a Predator helmet on

So i managed to find the Predator yesterday and after about 10 attempts i killed him. It was enjoyable for what it was.. Would love to see a bigger game in the same kind of vein. Shame you dont get more of a reward for killing him.

Re: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands
Wrapped this one up today. Looks like it took me 30 hours, which honestly didn't seem too bad since I felt like I played it longer. Overall I really enjoyed it. I ended up getting both endings. I actually like the "bad" ending more than the "good" ending, it just felt like it fit more in line with the story. Now time to hop into the DLC.
