I saw the trailer and I cried, that hasn't happened since Rogue Leader on Gamecube. Definitely need a new console!

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

Yea...I'm not much on MP either...the days of COD and it's campers ruined it for me...but I don't think it will be like that with this. They're saying over 40 players and based on the MP footage it's going to be way to much going on with different objectives for some "campers" to make a difference.

That said for those who want a SP, the co-op looks to be a good alternative and it is throwing in some horde type mode which I'd like to hear more from.

Battlefield is chock full of campers. I sincerely hope BF is a better MP experience than the last Battlefield game.

I never understood the complaint of camping in multiplayer shooters.

Me neither, but then again I'm a professional camper.

It's a legit strategy to try to win, which is what we're all trying to do in video games. I've never understood the appeal of running around the middle of a map like a chicken with its head cut off, but whatever floats your boat. If you want to run blindly around corners without a care, you shouldn't complain when you get shot in the back.

On second thought, keep complaining. It only makes me want to camp harder

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

Yup, I've played enough competitive multiplayer that it's essential. Plus for most of these games, if you're a class like a Sniper what else would you be doing? In the case of say Battlefield 4, the maps are so large that it should be fairly easy to take an alternate route to sneak up on those guys anyway.

Hate multiplayer. People always ruin things. This game will be no exception.

I must've been living under a rock...I just found out about the no single player thing. Gotta cancel the preorder now. I might pick it up if it drops to around $30, but I refuse to pay full price for mp only. Terrible decision by EA/Dice.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

Though the lack of SP is a surprise, I hope they make up for with more extended co-op which seeing it looks like a blast. My only fear is they more or less just add it in as "side play" while primarily focusing on MP which still looks good.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

Has anyone played a previous Battlefront game? They never had single player modes except against bots (which is a game mode I find very unsatisfying). I have no problem with this version following the same model as previous ones. For $38 with GCU and pre-order, I suspect it might give me several hours of multiplayer fun. That's good enough for me.

exactly. play it for a month or two, get bored, sell it for $30. it's effectively a 2 month game rental for about $10.

All I've ever wanted is another Tie Fighter. This looks to fit the bill nicely.

Looks cool, but I've never enjoyed playing flying games with a gamepad. There'll always be a special place in my heart for 90s-era PC space sims that utilized those giant flight sticks.

I was wondering if you need internet to play this game. We moved out in the country where there is no internet access of any kind. I'm hoping that its not like destiny where you need to be online to play. Anyone know?

For competitive multiplayer you'll probably need an internet connection.

I'm not sure if the co-op or splitscreen MP has been confirmed for offline play yet.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

Star Wars Battlefront Beta: Armed and Operational.

It’s coming. The opportunity to whizz by gigantic, robotic panthers and bring them crashing down into the snow with a trip wire before blowing them to pieces with a cold-blooded shot to the neck. Or, to drive one of those said panthers and blast snowspeeders like a sniper standing three feet from a target. It’s coming soon. Sooner than the November 17 release date for Star Wars Battlefront.

EA has announced that Star Wars Battlefront beta will be coming to Playstation4, Xbox One, and on Origin for PC in early October. It will feature the Walker Assault on Hoth, a massive 40-player battle that will also give gamers a chance to play as either Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader, and the Survival Mission on Tatooine, where two Rebels must find a way to combat waves of Imperial forces.

In addition to the two battle simulations will be a new mode appropriately named “Drop Zone.” More details on that in the weeks ahead.

Also set to debut during Star Wars Battlefront beta is the Star Wars Battlefront Companion Experience. Available at StarWarsBattlefront.com the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience will feature the strategic card game Base Command, and allow both Rebel and Imperial players to multitask and receive various notifications while playing Star Wars Battlefront.

The Star Wars Battlefront Companion will be available in the Apple App Store and Google Play prior to the release of Star Wars Battlefront on November 17.
