I'm a glass half full kind of guy. I see it as coming out four days early instead of three days late.

That first game is rough by today's standards. I like it fine cuz it's the start but there was a huge leap in quality to the 2nd one.

I know certain "event" movies have moved to Friday releases (plus Twilight on Saturdays), but it's kind of odd for this series, which I love but honestly is a catalog release.

Do these games have difficulty levels? I remember trying the demo of the first one when it came out, and got my ass handed to me.

I bet the Friday release had something to do with the system bundle as well, which will be released on Friday for $349 now instead of $399.

They have difficulty based trophies too, so if you you're a trophy whore like me, you have to beat the games twice (Hard, then Crushing) to Platinum it.
I will admit to resorting to some very cheap tactics I found on youtube to beat the last boss of Uncharted 2 on Crushing though. (there was a section of the first game that made me want to give up too, but I plowed through. I don't remember any part of 3 being particularly hard on any difficulty)

Yeah, I'm sure I was playing on Crushing, which is unusual for me since I generally don't replay games at higher difficulties. But I played the heck out of these three (the third one less so).

Nobody's played the latest Tomb Raider, so a little hard to say.
Besides you're not comparing Apples & Apples here. One is a new game for next gen consoles, the other is a remastered trilogy of games that are up to nine years old.
The better comparison would be Rise of the Tomb Raider vs Uncharted 4. For me that's Uncharted 4 easily (though I'm sure Rise of the Tomb Raider will be great and I'm buying them both). If you were thinking of getting Uncharted 4 in March 2016, it makes MUCH sense to get and play the trilogy first as they're very story and character driven. And awesome games.

But I'm playing through Drakes Fortune now and loving the slight puzzle, platforming and Gears of War like gunplay. Very fun. Poor Sully!

I think some people have said they prefer Tomb Raider's combat mechanics but Uncharted's story and voice acting.

Tomb Raider is really good.
Uncharted 2 was my favorite game of the last generation. It's pretty much perfect.
If you like Uncharted, just wait til you play the sequel....

I think so. Haven't played DF since it came out almost a decade ago, but the shooting is great in U2 for the most part. Tossing grenades isn't so wonderful, but even then it's better.
The free PS4 Uncharted Remaster demo is from a mid-game level in Uncharted 2. Check it out and decide.

I never liked the gunplay in any of the Uncharted games, but there was enough good (especially in #2) to look well past that. That is one area that TR improved 100 fold.
I'm oddly looking forward more to Uncharted 4 than Tomb Raider 2 at this point, the talk of it being a 40 hour game and all the "new skills!" has really been a turn off -- the worst feature of Tomb Raider was the unnecessary padding of areas with excess bad guys.

I hated the gun fights in the first game and remember having a hard time getting used to it, but didn't mind it so much in 2 and 3.

Weird. All the Best Buys and Targets near me have the PS4 bundle with the game, but no one seems to have just lone copies of the game. And god forbid I step into a Gamestop... *shudder*

I was never the biggest fan of the Tomb Raider series really but the newest game is okay. I'd say overall I enjoy the Uncharted games more.

Re: Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection - 10/9/15, PS4
i'm honestly liking the humor and getting used to the gunplay.
played over an hour and didn't even realize.
it takes awhile to get used to a 3rd person game in general, after having played strictly FPS for so long and i think i am getting a little disoriented from playing it actually, but not so bad.
i thought there would be more puzzle solving or at least some more to discover. i'm running around these lush jungles and tombs and it seems very limited in what you can pick up and discover.
don't get me wrong, i like it, but guess i have to reacclimate. i've only played 3rd person and never FPS before my 360 some 4 or so years ago.
i'm guessing the 2 sequels fix certain issues i am having and PS Now seems to come and go on my connection for some reason. is that normal for PS Now?
