Is there an adapter? Yes.
Can you still get one. Probably not.
To hook up your Ions on your Xbox you need the MadCatz MPA adapter from RB3 (still available on Amazon) + the Legacy adapter from PDP (no longer available anywhere).
So you are really out of luck unless you are an extreme modder.

If you have a PS4 then you dont need the extra adapters at all. So there is that.
MS does not allow legacy 360 wired controllers to connect to X1. No idea why, probably some way to avoid hacks. So here we are.

Is the song import feature still laborious for RB4? I have 1-3 on the Xbox 360, and I don't want to spend hours picking out the songs I own.

If you have already imported on the 360 then then they should show up automatically in RB4.
Go into the dashboard settings for RB4 and look under Ready to install.
Anything you bought or imported on the 360 should populate there.

I have to admit, so far I feel pretty dumb for jumping into Rock Band this gen. I bought the legacy adapter bundle for $50, then upgraded to Rivals for another $40, and transferred RB3 over for $15. So over $100 invested and I've played maybe 3 - 4 hours total. I don't know if it's because I'm a little older now or it's not as fun playing alone, but I don't get the joy I did like last gen.

You feel dumb because you are now an 'older' person playing a 'silly' rhythm based game? or
You feel dumb because you spent all that money and the game is not what it once was?
What level do you play at? Med, Hard, or Expert?
Are you not being challenged?
The challenge for me and the fun I derive is seeing continued improvement in playing each instrument.
