That is correct. They don't use the code in your RB3 case for some reason (maybe becuase people got rid of their last-gen stuff, maybe to get as much export money as possible)

What if I exported 1 & 2 into 3 already? With each purchase, I did the import thing for the next one.

You're good for those then. You should be able to pull in RB1 now, RB2 should be along before too much longer, and RB3 is just a matter of playing it enough on the 360 for Harmonix to acknowledge that you own it. (Just get an achievement, maybe?)

I think only the original physical runs of RB3 included the code. The digital sales on the 360 obviously couldn't include a code, and I think the code wasn't included in the reissued discs by MadCatz either.

OK, sounds like its just issues on their end about recognizing purchases, etc...(which I've read about) but I finally pulled the trigger and want to get as many in there as I can.

Edited to add: Thanks everyone! Got RB4 setup, added about 100-150 songs we had bought, did the RB3 Export, then figured out how to add the RB1 songs. Still a few missing that were favorites (probably on RB2) but it wasn't too bad. Party time.

Depressing lack of Bill Murray and Groundhog Day themed music for 2/2/2016.

Re: Rock Band 4 (XB1/PS4, 2015)

I have been going through RB4 and I have downloaded some of my prior packs that I have bought.

I just have to say that the Boston pack has to be the best one ever done by RB in my opinion. All the songs in it has the best charts to play and are just a ton of fun.

In other news, I am really sick of having to import tons of shit separately and I am astonished at how much money I have put into the RB games over the years.

Based on that list of bands and the fact that it's February, I wonder if they'll do some kind of anti-Valentine's Day pack, like:

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I Hate Myself for Loving You
J. Geils Band - Love Stinks
Generation X - Dancing with Myself

Re: Rock Band 4 (XB1/PS4, 2015)

Question for all of you RB4 Xbox One players. With the latest update that hit this week, my leaderboard stuff is completely screwed up.

Basically, my scores no longer post after i finish a song. I can access the leaderboards, but the list just starts at #1 and my score is nowhere to be seen. I've seen some other people complain about this issue over at the Harmonix forums...but it doesn't seem to be that widespread.

I'm wondering if any of you are having this issue and if you've been able to solve it yet. I've got a ticket in to HMX but no word so far.

I've been going through my song list in alphabetical order in quickplay and I had forgotten that they edit out the "goddamn" in one of the Fall Out Boy songs. You can say "goddamn" in PG rated movies what the hell Rock Band.

My car uses Slacker Radio. I have Explicit lyrics allowed. The car is more than happy to select and play "Fuck You" by C. Lo Green when my kids are in the car, but it still drops the word "Come-ah" from "Hey Yeah". I assume that's the case with last week's RB version as well?

Killer DLC selection this week:

I'm really digging that masaya matsuura track. Definitely breaking away from what I'd expect outta Rock Band.

I bought this today along with way too many other songs thanks to the xbox points sale and yes it drops the "come-ah".

And yet Ellie King can sing "They always wanna Come but the never wanna leave" in Ex's and Oh's in Rock Band and that's okay. No edit necessary.
Double entendre? Fine. Single entendre? Not so much.

I haven't listened to the radio in ages so I completely forget about edited music until it pops up in Rock Band. "Feel Good Inc" by The Gorillaz is another annoying one.

That's not good. With this and then GH poor sales, you have to assume this may be the final nail in the coffin on these types of games until something fresh comes along.

RB4 was released half baked. You shouldn't regress in future releases from the prior release. That can result in the death of a franchise all by itself.

If you actually read the article it's far less doom and gloom then the title suggests.

I did read the article. It said that it sold well but not as well as expected and look at the outcome. I just don't know if I see these types of games going much further after this. If they can't latch onto the newest system generation like GH and RB1 did, then they are dead.

While I agree that it was half baked and scaled-back, I really believe that didn't affect sales at all. The only people who really knew and understood what was lacking in this release were probably the folks that bought the game anyway.

Honestly, it was probably a choice between the game we got or nothing. Harmonix doesn't have any publisher support behind it anymore, and MadCatz had to leverage pretty heavily to get the game/instruments on store shelves. They might not have been able to afford a delay -- as in, not enough money to pay the bills -- and the possibility of launching after Guitar Hero Live / missing the holiday window probably looked fatal as well.

A key problem was probably preaching to the converted. Devoted Rock Band fans heavily preordered or picked the game up in its first couple of months, but they couldn't sell the game to new folks. There wasn't any real marketing muscle behind it, making it tougher to reach lapsed fans or spark the interest of prospective new ones. I do wonder how the lack of DLC carryover between the 360=>PS4 or PS3=>XB1 may have impacted things. I know it's an insurmountable problem, but still, DLC for the dominant platform last-gen couldn't carry over to the dominant platform this gen.

To be fair, though, MadCatz has its fingers in a bunch of other pies that aren't doing well either. In fact, it doesn't even sound as if their big bet on RB4 is the primary culprit:

Our quarterly net sales were the second highest in the Company’s history reflecting strong Rock Band 4 sales, which were partially offset by continuing softness in sales of our audio and PC gaming products. However, Rock Band sell-through was lower than originally forecast resulting in higher inventory balances as well as lower margins due to increased promotional activity with retailers.

Re: Rock Band 4 (XB1/PS4, 2015)

Setlists will be back with the April update: http://imgur.com/MwDCWd4

Also, massive song fixes:

As an early heads up, we're making a ton of individual song fixes in our back catalog in April. These are addressing things like adding guitar parts to songs with no guitar, broken disco flips, guitar track mutes, various charting issues notes, and more. If there are any authoring changes required to make these fixes, we will wipe individual song leaderboards for the affected songs. I'm going to have a final list of which songs will be addressed in the coming weeks, which you'll see as soon as I do.
