That's because they already sold people that season pass on a promise of content. When they decided instead of small dlc they were going to make something bigger they had to still include it or people would have wanted their money back.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
I completed this game about 3 weeks ago. It was good, but it feels like this series is being left behind in the dust by the rebooted Tomb Raider series. The graphics in this game are always amazing, but the character has always felt clunky. And to say i was sick to death of climbing shit in this game is an understatement. It felt more like a climbing simulator than anything else. The Tomb Raider games have really looked at the problems the last few games have had, rectified them and then given a new boost of life to the characters by making it semi open world and allowing Lara much more freedomg of movement. Thats what this series needs.
I would like to see another installment, but it really needs big changes to keep this series interesting and not just something pretty to look at.

Agreed - while I've liked all the Uncharted games just fine, I definitely preferred the last two Tomb Raider games to any Uncharted game.

For me, the game play of Tomb Raider has eclipsed Uncharted for pure fun in movement and combat, but Uncharted's story and characters still immensely more entertaining then Tomb Raider.
That said, the series hardly needs big changes. This entry sold a shit ton and was incredibly popular. I'm looking forward to the DLC quite a bit.

I mostly agree, they don't "have" to change anything, the franchise is still hugely popular. But yeah, Tomb Raider wins, easily, in terms of gameplay, Uncharted in terms of characters and storytelling.
I had a similar issue with Last of Us, which was beautifully realized but just kind of blah to actually play.

Interesting, I could never "Pre-Order" it before -- I also got it with the cheap Season Pass deal at Best Buy. Now it shows in the store as Free for me and I got the pre-order theme. I wonder if I will get Jack & Daxter as well (I'm not supposed to with the Season Pass, but we shall see -- on the store page it says I'm not eligible for the Dynamic Theme either but I got that).
Anyone with the Season Pass who hasn't done so yet, go claim the game now so you at least get the free pre-order theme.
Personally I still never finished Uncharted 4 . Better get back to it before playing this expansion.

I haven't played the fourth game yet as I don't have a PS4. Is The Lost Legacy a totally new game or just packaged DLC or what? Also is Drake out going forward? I probably won't play the fourth game or the new one for a while as I don't plan to buy a PS4 anytime soon so I don't care about spoilers.

^ I do, so if you talk about the ending, please spoilerize it.
I know it's been out for a year but I'm still working through it. Man, it's taking me a long time. Levels are just huge.

It's a totally new game, you can buy it separately for $40. Still includes the multiplayer from UC4 (which itself receives an expansion related to the new game).

It's a new game, but it's considerably shorter than an Uncharted game. I read it's 6 hrs to play through.

Though initially announced as downloadable content for last year’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, The Lost Legacy is much more than a simple add-on or expansion. Sony has since shifted The Lost Legacy to “stand-alone” status, and for good reason: This is a real, full Uncharted game. It’s shorter than the other entries in the series, sure, but it’s also a fully developed, energetic and satisfying adventure.
The biggest surprise — and perhaps a proof of concept for future Sony developers who may take a shot at the Uncharted franchise after Naughty Dog has moved on — is that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy pulls all of this off without the help of longtime protagonist Nathan Drake. In fact, at times it feels better for his absence.]

I'm only on chapter 4 so far but it's been great. It seems to missing just a tad of the polish that Uncharted 4 had, but I haven't really missed playing as Drake. Looking forward to playing a lot more over the weekend.

Should've been $30, but those who got the DLC way back for $20 lucked out.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
Yeah, that's one time a pre order worked massively in my favor. Plus it also gave a lot of in game premium currency and permanent price reductions for items for multiplayer (with additional permanent reductions months later).

I'm sure it's been said before, but the protagonist looks just like Lara Croft. It's distracting.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
I'm enjoying it. It doesn't really feel like an add on but as it's own game. Not as polished as 4 but still feels like a high budget production. I'm just not a fan of brining Nadine in. I would have preferred Nate's brother or Cutter. It doesn't feel like it suffers not having Drake, but I also kind of miss him as well.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
Just finished The Lost Legacy. It's my new favorite Uncharted game. The Chloe & Nadine dynamic makes for some of the best character interactions in the series and they are far more interesting characters than the Drake Bros. The setpieces and locations are beautiful and it's the perfect length.
