Saw the new Rosalina. I came late to the Amiibo party and missed the Target one. This new one was pretty weak by comparison so I passed.

Edit: I just checked our Bowser and it has a red base. My son might have found a used copy.
Thanks

Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't look like any of these will work in Windwaker? Why in the hell would you have a toon Link / Zelda pack and not have them usable in the game they are from??

Does windwaker even have amiibo functionality?
Those pixel links are going to shelfwarm, it seems.

Best Buy's Deal of the Day is an Amiibo sale.
After GCU, Animal Crossing cards are $2.39, and a bunch of figures are as low as $3.19.

If I wanted to grab an Amiibo or two for the new Zelda game, would it matter which ones I buy? Do you get the same stuff with all of them?

The types of drops do vary by figure. Personally, I'm finding the Guardian really useful because it drops Guardian parts (along with a generally low-level Ancient weapon, but arrows are in rotation). The only other figure I have is Archer Link, which isn't amazing, but it helps keep me stocked with elemental arrows.

The one I'd want the most is the SSB Link, since for whatever reason, that's the only way you can get Link's Epona, which is supposed to be the best horse.

Yeah but you're not going to find that for a reasonable price right now. In fact all but the most recent series are being scalped pretty heavily now, and even Zelda is apparently sold out some places.

I swung by Best Buy and picked up Link w/ horse, Zelda, and the Guardian. I forgot that GCU also stacked, so that was a nice surprise.
Do the old Amiibos work as well with the new game? I still have the wolf one that came with Twilight Princess and the toon Link & Zelda two pack.

Here's a list: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/201...th_of_the_wild
I haven't tried Wolf Link out yet. Keep forgetting whenever things get hectic.

I've been looking for a SSB Link too, checking the used game shops around town, but haven't found one yet.

Majora's Mask Link and Bayonetta (Player 2) are both up to pre-order at Best Buy.

My wife swore that she wouldn't buy into these things when they first came out.
But when the prices started dropping on the new ones, it only took a couple weeks to for her to get every Animal Crossing related figure.
Glad they're not so hard to find like they were at first.

Well the Animal Crossing ones are like the worst when it comes to shelf warmers (Mario Party being close behind). But the Zelda ones sold pretty well I think, and all the new preorders are sold out within a day.

Best Buy just opened preorders for a bunch of the Amiibo that were announced at E3. Mario Odyssey, the Zelda DLC, Fire Emblem, Metriod, etc.
And unlike Amazon, GCU stacks.

I was able to get two out of the three Link amiibo today. These store exclusives are ridiculous. Best Buy got the Majora's Mask version, Amazon got the Skyward Sword version, and Gamestop got the Twilight Princess version. And each one unlocks different exclusive items in Breath of the Wild.
Thankfully I was on Amazon when their exclusive went live today, and they sold out in about 10 minutes. Best Buy had ONE at opening this morning, the rest were on hold for preorders. Thankfully I got there right when they opened. Two other people walked in after me looking for them and both left empty handed. It's so dumb to have something in your ad when you won't have any left after preorders. I called a couple of the closest Gamestops and none of the stores had any for sale other than the ones for preorders. I'm hardly ever at Gamestop, maybe a few times a year, so I probably won't ever get that one.

Might pick up the Wedding versions of Mario, Peach, and Bowser. I wish they'd do a Tanooki suit Mario or one with the racoon ears on his hat and the tail.

Since I love Pikmin I had to grab the new Amiibo that came out yesterday and it's probably the best looking one they've released so far.

Re: Amiibo figurine discussion (Wii U / New 3DS / Switch)
These really seem to have dried up around my area. I don't have many places to find them locally (Walmart, Target, or GameStop) and they all seem to have hardly any or the ones that they have are like a bunch of the same four or five characters (seems like I run across the fireball Mario, Waluigi, Daisy, Donkey Kong, Kirby, some of the new Zelda ones, and a bunch of Animal Crossing characters). Once in a while I'll grab one off Amazon if I really want it (last one I did was Boo) but otherwise I haven't got one for quite a while.
