The official Mario Party 10 site suggests we'll be seeing Mario Party-style Amiibo (red base) for Donkey Kong, Rosalina, and Wario.

re: Amiibo figurine discussion (Wii U / New 3DS / Switch)

I really wanted King DeDeDe, Sonic and Mega Man so I decided to venture over to Toys 'R' Us tat about 8 this morning to make sure I could get one.

I ended up second in line so I was able to get all 3. They only received two KD3 and Sonics, and 7 of Mega Man. No Ikes. The other TRU on the other side of Sacramento got a bunch of Ikes but none of the others. Guess I picked the right one to stand in line at.

The scalpers were out in force. People have their kids buying these things. Even though after me they only had Mega Man they still swooped them all up. Others came about 10 minutes before TRU even opened and were pissed there was a line.

The last "must have" for me at this point is Meta Knight. I hope Best Buy does a ticket system as well so its not people trampling over one another next week.

Does anyone need a Sheik? I picked up the last one at Wal-Mart today and thought I'd share. I know it's not super rare, but I thought I'd ask just in case.

Lotsa news from Nintendo since yesterday.

More Amiibo will be compatible with Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker with its update on March 20th, but it sounds like it'll be a cute, very minor thing.

Sometime in the next few months, Nintendo will release some Wii U software that'll let you tap an Amiibo to the gamepad and play a very small snippet from a corresponding Virtual Console game. Like, you tap Wario to the gamepad, and a level/challenge from Wario's Woods pops up. This would be oriented around tiny sections, NES Remix-style.

Nintendo reiterated the card approach for rare/out of print Amiibo, which is dumb. Lotsa talk at the investor's meeting about production constraints, making it sound like there'll continue to be rarity issues going forward.

The 3DS Amiibo peripheral will drop around Summer.

5.7 million Amiibo sold. The U.S. received 63% of shipments. (23% to Europe, 11% to Japan, and 3% to Australia.)

That's really stupid. But not surprising.

Looks like I'll be importing the "rare" ones then. I got all the others I've wanted.

I'm only waiting on my GameStop pre-orders for King Dedede, Mega Man, and Ike to come through and my Best Buy pre-order for Meta Knight then I'll have the complete collection thus far. It really is stressful trying to get all these stupid things.

I've managed to collect all that are available so far, though some like Villager and Marth are imports. Pre-ordered the last of the 3rd wave (Ike, Dedede, Meta Knight, etc...) long ago at Best Buy and they delivered on all of them this past week.

Waiting on pre-orders for the 4th wave to go up. Ness, Lucina, and Robin are all going to be extremely hard to get.

LOLOL

I think they could have left some in the back. Too bad it wasn't one of the rare ones and you could have had a "flippin'" good time on ebay.

The guy in the back selling amiibos to his friends and ebay needed to open a few dozen cases, hence the Peaches.

The crazy thing is that all the pegs were tagged Peach. It's not like they were tagged Mega Man, Sonic, Fox, etc., and all those Peaches just wound up being pegwarmers.

Maybe your town is a haven for Peach fans. They are just catering to their demographic

Peach, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi have gotten a price drop to $9.99. I wonder if my local TRU will stock up even more...?!?!?!

re: Amiibo figurine discussion (Wii U / New 3DS / Switch)

From that article:

Those characters ranked in the bottom half of the top 10 best-selling amiibo in North America, according to a recent investor presentation from Nintendo president Satoru Iwata.

New versions of Peach and Yoshi amiibo are coming to stores next month alongside the release of Mario Party 10 for Wii U.
The bottom half, but they're getting reposes. What? Now watch, with their marketing strategy they'll make those three the short shipped ones for the MP versions and they'll become hot commodities.

I think Amazon dropped the prices on those three a few weeks ago, I had no idea it was an official price drop.

Picked up Mega Man and Sonic from GameStop today. My pre-orders of Dedede and Ike are delayed until summer though so I trade with someone else online of a few extras I had just in case the summer orders get canceled period.

Just got in on a Gold Mario. Don't know why as this would be my first amiibo, but did it anyway. I guess the "Limited Edition" part and it being Mario had something to do with it.

Things like this video frustrate me, and not because he has the amiibos, but mostly because he says that "this is getting out of hand, and its really stupid"...Yet he has an ENTIRE wave of them? Bitch please.

re: Amiibo figurine discussion (Wii U / New 3DS / Switch)

Well, I'm 29 for 29 now. This is definitely the point of no return considering I only need 19 amiibos to complete the Super Smash Bros. line (excluding Mewtwo and the potential for Mii Fighter amiibos).

I remember back when I posted "I'm only getting the original twelve characters." What a fool I was.

I put in an order on walmart.com yesterday for a Gold Mario, before they stopped taking orders. I don't understand this crap, but I figured that I'll either give it to a friend, or sell it on eBay.

re: Amiibo figurine discussion (Wii U / New 3DS / Switch)

I just picked up my first figures. Don't have a WiiU or a New3DS so I can't really use them, but my son is Sonic crazy -- both the games and the comics so I when I saw both Sonic and his comic buddy Mega Man on the shelf, I had to pick them up along with a Toon Link for my personal desktop figure collection.
