There are a few battles on this game that are insane. I am playing normal difficulty and there are several where I had to replay them 4 or 5 times. There is also one battle that took 30 mins. I have no doubt i probably could have done it quicker with better gear but it is still insanely long.

Just started. Too early for any in depth analysis, but while the overall graphics are obviously an improvement over the last ones, the faces are not. Why do the faces all look so horrible? Faces were fine in the last games, but this one; all the preset faces for your character, whatever custom face you make, AND all the NPCs - everyone looks like they have a missing chromosome. What's the deal?

I played the Multiplayer and those are some intense levels, but they seem to be just grinding -- it felt like Destiny a bit. What sucks is that the level of customization isn't all there. You need to play for a long while before shit opens up. For those that ordered the Deluxe/Pre-Ordered it -- remember that you also get various multiplayer bonuses, as well. I had a bunch of special crates that unlocked characters and weapons, etc.

Where do I get better armor? The shit I have is lvl 4 and I have sucky shield levels and health. All my squad mates have nearly double my shields/health. Annoying as hell.

Yeah my shields suck, too. It seems like the little peon kett tear through it easily. The higher ups can put me down with ease unless I retreat.
Oh and my favorite part of the game is the level design. I really got to see a lot of it. Particularly during the 20-25 minute battles which end in my death. This of course causes me to start from the beginning of the quest. It's so much fun. I'm glad they not only eliminated the abilitiy to save mid quest, but cut down on checkpoints as well.
Great job, Bioware.

Huh, I thought level 4 armor is pretty good. I have level 4 Pathfinder level armor for head, chest, arms, and legs. You can also mix and match them and add mods to certain parts. If you're dying too quickly due to shitty armor you may have to add some of your point perks to your defenses.

yeah, armor only goes to lvl 5, but for whatever reason, my dude is terrible. all of his squad have nearly double health/shields than he does. i sort of get it since they are basically sponges to soak up the damage but still, seems like i can't find good balance to get those stats up.

I am about 50 hours into the game so far on my insanity run. I am level 43. Game of the year so far.
Combat is amazing. I am not sure I like the fact you can be a jack of all trades....I always like focusing more on a few skills, which I am doing. I am a little confused, because I tried to set up a profile for different skills, but each time I switch to it in combat, it overwrites my other profiles with those skills.
My bread and butter skills are incinerate, energy drain and tac cloak. Once I got a secret skill that is required for a trophy, I set up a second profile with that skill replacing energy drain. Profile 1 had my three main skills, and profile two had incinerate, energy drain and
..in combat when I fight revenant I switch to profile 2. After I am done and switch back to profile 1 I no longer have energy drain on my skill tree..it overwrites it. This has to be a bug.
I have done all the loyalty missions, and unlocking squad mates special ammo is amazing. Having people frozen and stunned non stop from cryo and disruptor ammo makes the game so much easier.
The three squad members that have special ammo also happen to be my favorite to take into battle, because they also happen to have skills that keep them alive on insanity a lot better than the others.
I love exploring space. I love how each level and world feel different.
Level design so far has been fantastic, and less "oh here is cover you are about to get attacked" like the other mass effect games have...
Negatives..
Yeah, there is a bit too much fetch quest MMO crap. It actually is not as bad as I thought it would be, and you can skip most of it, but the easy xp is hard to give up.
They got rid of that guy who would read the codex stuff...really liked his voice.
Bad guy is not that good, and the main bad part is just a rehash of other bad guys and even some of the earlier mass effects.
Squad is not as good as some of the best from Mass Effect 1-3...Your main character actually is better than Shepard, but only a few on your team come close to some of the best from 1-3...
MP matchmaking is broken for 2 players.
Overall...This has to be the lowest rated game from the public and critics that I would put as game of the year quality. I have never disagreed with so many before on a game.
As for crafting, Level 5 seems to be the highest you can make, at least on your first run, but I have started seeing level 6 armor and weapons drop. This sort of makes me mad, because level 6 is a little better than what I can craft, but my crafting has a bunch of extra stuff added that you cant get on a drop.

Finally sealed the deal with Suvi. According to what I have read now that I am in a relationship with her I cannot bang and anyone else. I think Keri is the only one that I can, but that is a fling, and I have to get prompted for it with the final interview in her documentary series. We already had drinks and she suggested going back to her place.

Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda - 3/21/17
is that the final part of her romance, or is there one more stage after that? I got to that part, but I did not get the trophy, even though I had a one time fling with peebee...and I also closed the deal with suvi...after drinks I figured that was that, but the trophy did not pop...
My mistake. Looks like the trophy didn't pop up for me either. It's when I spotted the journal log that it said I had already slept with her, but there was no cut scene. I figured it would end after the final interview. Might be a stupid glitch.
What i did do was finish Peebee and Vetra's loyalty missions and I sealed the deal with Peebee even after the Whole friends with benefits storyline ended. It didn't seem to affect my relationship with Suvi, though. Maybe there's a threesome possibility with them? I know the video game reviewer for Forbes said there was a threesome scenario, but that we should find that out for ourselves.

Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda - 3/21/17
I'm 20% through the game and I still don't feel very competent with combat, whereas I did in the first few hours of previous games. I felt like a god of death with my sniper rifle in Mass Effect 3, but on Insanity they nerfed the weapons and biotic combos, weakened my shields, and provided such inadequate cover in places that I often barely scrape through the more difficult encounters.
I always play on Insanity difficulty. In the previous games it was difficult but doable because they had regular checkpoints. Mass Effect 2 upped the difficulty of Insanity (god, the Collector ship) and this one made it even harder. The kicker is that I might go an hour between checkpoints. In the previous games I'd usually get a checkpoint between objectives. Now, the checkpoints are usually "before mission" and "after mission". Not a lot of fun to replay a 30-minute encounter, especially more than once.

Still chugging along -- I noticed that I got the "Matchmaker" trophy, which is Ultra Rare (1.3%) for romancing 3 different characters. I take it tat was for Peebee, Suvi, and Kerri.

I did the same people but it did not pop...was there ever any other mission with Kerri after the bar?

Not yet. I have the final interview "on hold" until I get the prompt.
Mine popped with Peebee, though. I romanced Suvi, Kerri, and Peebee was last. I wonder if it's just a glitch with Kerri?

I did finish the game the other night at about 56 hours..I put another 10 in getting each area to 100%. All I am missing on my trophy list is the romance and the two glitched story trophies I missed.

I just can't get into this game. I played each of the original trilogy games multiple times, doing everything you could possibly do. I've been waiting for so long for another installment and I'm just really disappointed with it.

Hi everyone,
It’s been two weeks since the launch of Mass Effect™: Andromeda and we’re thankful to the millions of you who have already joined us on this journey. And though the game is now in your hands, it’s really just the beginning.
Since launch, our team has been poring over your comments and feedback, looking to discover what you like about the game, as well as areas we can evolve or improve.
This Thursday, we’ll release a new patch that addresses technical fixes (crashes, improved performance), but also adds a number of improvements we’ve heard you ask for, such as:
Allowing you to skip ahead when travelling between planets in the galaxy map
Increasing the inventory limits
Improving the appearance of eyes for humans and asari characters
Decreasing the cost of remnant decryption keys and making them more accessible at merchants
Improving localized voice over lip sync
Fixing Ryder’s movements when running in a zig zag pattern
Improving matchmaking and latency in multiplayer
There are many more adjustments being made, all of which you can find in our patch notes.
Over the next two months we’ll be rolling out additional patches which will go even deeper and look to improve several areas of the game:
More options and variety in the character creator
Improvements to hair and general appearance for characters
Ongoing improvements to cinematic scenes and animations
Improvements to male romance options for Scott Ryder
Adjustments to conversations with Hainly Abrams
These upcoming patches will also address performance and stability issues. And we’re looking at adding more cosmetic items to single player for free.
For multiplayer, over the same timeframe, we’re going to continue to build on the APEX missions that have been running since launch. We’ll be adding new maps, characters, and weapons. On Thursday, we kick off the first of three new chapters centered around The Remnant Investigation.
This is just a taste of what’s in store as we continue to support Mass Effect: Andromeda. And as always, you all play an important role in that. We want to hear from you about your experiences, both what you love about the game and what you’d like to see changed. We’re listening, and we’re committed to partnering with you as we continue to explore the Andromeda galaxy together.
Here’s to a great journey,
Aaryn
