Re: Mortal Kombat X

Glad to see the series still going. I really hope they go back to their 2D roots, although I know they won't. The last game was fun but 2 & 3 were still the highlight of the series.

Re: Mortal Kombat X

i bought the most recent one during a steam sale a few months ago. I played for 10 minutes and uninstalled it. I am 35 years old and my reflexes and move memorization are no longer there. Why did i even bother

I bought the PS3 version, after being away from Mortal Kombat since #4. I couldn't even finish the fucking tutorial mode. I got far enough, but at the end they expect you to remember button combinations for a bunch of combo moves. Same reason I had to stop playing Street Fighter after #2. Combo memorization ruined fighting games for me. It's no fun when I have to constantly pause to pull up a move list.

No wonder I only play Mario and Lego games these days. Modern gaming has left me behind.

Re: Mortal Kombat X

I don't think SF should be lumped with MK for combos. SF is more freed in its combos than MK. MK is rigid to the core in needing preset combo. SF? Not so much. There are combos that are commonly strung together but the system doesn't halt you when you stop a known combo. MK does.

Re: Mortal Kombat X

I'm in for this. The last one was awesome. I'd like to see some characters from the PS2-era trilogy come back as well.

I agree. I can still pull of all the Street Fighter moves, but I could never pull off half the moves of an MK game, and can pull off even less now a days.

Re: Mortal Kombat X

I want to be interested in this, but I just can't seem to get excited for fighting games anymore, as they feel like a bygone era in gaming for me.

They died with the arcades for me. Nothing was more fun for me than playing a friend at a real machine.

Looks like Quan Chi has Motaro's head in his hand in that trailer.

I hope they change up their game controls. So clunky and constrictive.

Re: Mortal Kombat X

I agree that fighting games lost their appeal. I mean to die hards of course they're the best thing ever but...I can't picture myself paying full price for a fighting game and as dthrdrx already said....these games were meant for the arcade.

Games looks good though.
