That gif makes the graphics on the 360 look a lot better than most other comparisons I've seen.
Apparently it's really inconsistent. I saw one shot of an open field and it looked really horrible with a single highly repetitive tiled texture for the ground and nothing else, versus the Xbox One that had lots of bushes, shrubs, and trees, among other details.

I wonder if they gimp the 360 version on purpose to make the XB1 version look better by comparison. I mean, it's not like the 360 is incapable of displaying brushes and stuff in in open fields.

Microsoft Launches Forza Hub App on Xbox One
Get new cars and in-game currency just by using it.
By Luke Karmali
Microsoft has launched a new Xbox One app focusing on the Forza franchise.
The Forza Hub app can be downloaded now, and appears to let you keep track of your progress within the series as a whole and also let you earn free cars and in-game credits simply by using it. In essence, it's akin to Halo Waypoint but for Microsoft's driving games.
The eighth and final week of car reveals for Forza Horizon 2 took place a couple of weeks ago, so we finally have a full list of all the vehicles we can expect to see at launch.

I'd like to see a review of the 360 version. I actually don't care how it compares to the XB1 version; I just want to know if it's worth getting on the 360. I loved the first game.

It is.
It's fucking annoying that once again they screwed up the VIP pass, so anyone who bought it in a bundle it isn't working for them. They had the same problem with Forza 5 and it took them a month to fix it.

Supposedly they fixed VIP, so that's nice. Unfortunately I'm already like level 20, so that's a lot of double XP I missed. I do have something like 15 wheel spins saved up though at least.
I had to switch to manual shifting on the controller, I noticed that with automatic it shifts really early, well before redline, and often at bad moments (like right before driving uphill). Luckily it's not too awkward shifting with X/Y, and they really let you wind out the engines quite a bit into redline before hitting the rev limiter.

You know what, I'm pretty sure they did gimp the 360 version of FH2, as the original Horizon on the 360 looks better and runs smoother than this does. Maybe not on purpose, but they probably just didn't put as much money/effort into it. It is $10 cheaper as well.

Yeah, I'm almost positive they just spent less effort on the Xbox 360 version this time around. There are just so many graphical inconsistencies. Personally, if I didn't have a Xbox One, this would be the game that would get me to buy one. Or at least I'd hold off on playing FH2 until I picked one up.

Picked this game up yesterday and love it. I keep crashing or messing up requiring me to rewind the race because the visuals are breathtaking. This is a Next Gen Demo. wow.

Honestly, I'm not impressed with this one at all. I'm only four hours in but truthfully I think that everything this game does is done better in Need For Speed Rivals. But I haven't delved into the online components that much...I'll have to give that a go tonight.

They should have implemented the everyone-online-at-once model used in NFS Rivals and in TDU. Other than that, it's great.
And I agree with the reviewer who complained about the ugly liveries seen on all the AI cars - they suck. Wish you could disable them.

I decided to turn off TCS when I was doing a C class race to make it more exciting. It did that, but I also noticed that I'm now easily destroying my opponents compared to when I was using TCS. It seems that TCS is a lot more aggressive than I noticed.
I strongly suggest to try playing with TCS off (always disable STM). It not only makes things a lot more exciting, you'll be faster as well, at least with the less powerful cars. I made this batshit insane Rally Fighter that is S2 rated with around 800hp I think, and it's just ridiculously difficult to control without TCS. That said, I'm still racing with TCS disabled on it, since it's a lot more fun, but I definitely have to rewind a bit more.
Now the only assists I have on is braking line, ABS (stupid to disable IMHO), and rewind. For most of the S1-2 cars I'll probably keep TCS on though.
The combination of disabling TCS and manual shifting has made me WAY faster than before. It makes sense with TCS, as only a few cars in real life have a intelligent enough TCS system to hang with a good driver not using TCS, but the auto shifting in this game is really too conservative.

Those rally events in Sistero have pretty much changed my opinion of the game. That was all sorts of fantastic. I almost felt bad for wrecking all the pretty scenery.

Re: Forza Horizon 2 (XB1, 360) - Fall 2014
Okay so I gave the demo another shot today. The controls were MUCH better when I left them at the default instead of the tweaking I did the first time.
This game is awesome and I need to buy it.
My question is:
Day One Edition
Deluxe Edition
or Ultimate Edition?
I'm probably more of a casual player who doesn't need every possible car or whatever... but do the Deluxe and Ultimate editions have any significant value to them? Which one should I get?

I'd just get the regular edition then. Maybe Deluxe if you think you'd enjoy more variety of cars... Especially is there are some cars that were just released or coming out that are obvious DLC picks and you care about them. Obvious choices to me are the Alfa 4C, C7 Z06, Hellcat brothers, Z28, etc. Even still it might make better sense to just hand pick your DLC cars since they often pick some really obscure choices.

Re: Forza Horizon 2 (XB1, 360) - Fall 2014
It is. You do.
No added value. The Deluxe Edition is the Day One + VIP Pass. The Ultimate Edition is the Day One + VIP Pass + Car (Season) Pass. No added discounts. Buy the regular, then if you want buy one or both the add-ons. I like the bonus cars given in the VIP pack (it also doubles your reward credits permanently, which is nice). They also sent me 3 bonus cars and 300,000 bonus credits the other day, I assume because I have the VIP pass. You might want to get that, but you can decide later. If you're a Forza 5 VIP (i.e. got the LE of that game), you do get a $10 discount on the VIP pass here though.
edit : Here's a little review of what you get with the VIP Pass that's included in the Deluxe version.
And it looks like you do get a slight discount with the Ultimate Edition. It's $99.99 and gives you $105 worth of content if bought separately (at full price).

For some reason I was thinking the Deluxe Edition came with the car pass not VIP. Yeah, just get the standard edition. VIP isn't worth it at all, at least so far. Only real benefit is double rewards on wheelspins... not a huge deal. Although it has meant between that and Forza Rewards I had more than enough to buy the Lamborghini Veneno, which is fucking badass.
They need to add the Egoista to the game though... this thing is batshit:
