The sequel to DC Super Heroes, Beyond Gotham will follow the Caped Crusader on an intergalactic adventure, which sees him out to prevent Braniac from destroying Earth. To achieve his goal, Brainiac is using the power of the Lantern Rings to miniaturise cities from across the cosmos. To stop him, Batman – along with a host of other DC heroes and villains – must visit different Lantern Worlds to collect the Rings and put an end to Braniac's scheme.
The game will feature more than 150 unique, unlockable characters from the DC universe. Following on from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Beyond Gotham will use big figures for characters such as Killer Croc and Solomon Grundy. Each character will new gadgets and abilities, with the announcement saying that "the power of the Lantern rigs bring unexpected twists to the classic characters' personalities."
More iconic locations will also feature in the sequel, with players able to visit locales such as the Hall of Justice, the Justice League Watchtower and the Batcave.

I really didn't care for the open world in Batman 2 at all, but maybe they've learned from the Marvel Heroes open world, which I found to be excellent (save for the flying mechanics).

Injustice is very bland. It's visuals aren't on par for the standard. Gameplay is too dependent on set combos. Which is a major gripe for me with MK. That last one at least had a solid visual design.

The character list for the game has come out, and there's a very interesting name among them.
Yes, Kevin Smith and his hockey jersey are in LEGO Batman 3. I wonder if he's taking the place of Stan Lee in the Marvel game, perhaps we'll have to go around saving Kevin over and over again.

I'm all for his inclusion though, and not just because I'm a former Smith Superfan. Generally speaking I applaud how this game is a celebration of comic book fandom and all facets of the Batman mythos so including arguably the world's most famous comic book fan in the game makes sense.

Just noticed that in addition to the regular version, the PSN store has a pre-order of Lego Batman 3 : Beyond Gotham Deluxe Edition that comes with, yes, a Season Pass.
When even the Lego games come with Season Passes, you know it's got to be a really lucrative trend.
The Season Pass will include six DLC packs each with a unique themed mission level with story and free play modes. Players will be able to unlock a total of over 40 characters, vehicles, achievements and more. The Season Pass includes:
● The Dark Knight Pack
● Man of Steel Pack
● Batman 75th Pack
● Arrow Pack
● Access to 2 additional DLC Packs

Re: Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
Picked this up, and am enjoying it a ton, still haven't picked up the Season Pass yet, but I probably will since it includes actual levels instead of just characters. I like that other characters have special outfits instead of just Batman and Robin. I'm about 5 or 6 levels into the story and I've come across one of the funniest/best gaming moments of the year, all I'll say is you'll know it when you use Wonder Woman.

I was just going to ask about this game. Is it the same as Lego Marvel or better? I quite enjoyed Lego Marvel and hoping that's on par with it. I'm assuming that there will be some glitches on this game as in all previous Lego games? Also how's the driving control on this game? I could not master that on Lego Marvel.

Re: Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
I've only been going from level to level so far, so I haven't had any races or anything like that. There's been a good variety of characters so far already. It appears that the overall hub world is going to be several smaller ones like in Lego Move Game instead of one giant one like in Marvel. I haven't had any freezes of crashes yet, but I'm sure they'll come, it is a Lego game afterall.

The little Easter eggs when you leave it on each character on the character selection screen are great. Pretty much more of the same, but not a bad thing. I also like the new skills that the characters have. Only a few levels in.

Re: Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
I really enjoyed Lego Batman 2 and even more so Lego Marvel, but this game is not peaking my interest. I guess its the combination of too many repeated characters, the new characters not being appealing and the fact that there is no big open world to explore, rather several smaller ones. I liked the large city aspect of Gotham and New York from previous titles. Also, i am starting to find it very tedious to go through these levels multiple times to collect the bricks and everything else to open up the entire game. I might pick it up when its cheaper.
