You ever fall asleep while playing?
I thought this might be a funny topic. I am 35, so I am a fairly old guy and don't have the stamina like I used to. No, not that kind of "stamina" I tend to get more sleepy during repetitive games. If I am sleepy I need to avoid games like Diablo 3 or Marvel Heroes. They are pretty repetitive in nature, you are farming the same areas over and over, and the gameplay can be rather mindless most of the time. A month ago I was playing adventure mode in Reaper of Souls, with another fellow. I kept nodding off the whole time. He got so pissed and kept saying "why the hell do you keep stopping??"
Last night probably takes the cake, I was playing Path of Exile and I was nodding off quite a bit. Then BOOM!! I fall completely asleep and go face first into the keyboard....more like nose first. I wake up in alot of pain and my nose is bleeding. My nose still hurts this morning. Lucky for me that painful episode woke me up and I played for another 45 minutes.

Re: You ever fall asleep while playing?
I've fallen asleep while playing WoW. My group was wondering why the priest stopped healing. I have also nodded off while playing D3. Basically my guy will just be standing there casting firebats at nothing until I wake up.

Many times, it's why I'm not a big fan of Last of Us -- I fell asleep after maybe 20 minutes everytime I played it.

haha, I've never fallen asleep while playing a game, but that's usually why I don't play games if I'm tired. It's much easier to fall asleep to a movie

I might have been sick at the time and taking the day off from work, but I fell asleep playing Tornado Outbreak on the 360 a few times.

I guess MMO/RPG player will chime in.
And yeah, playing Fallout 3. The wasteland is huge when you haven't discovered everything. So all that walking gets tiring.

I've never fallen asleep gaming. Actually, lately I've become very careful not to start a game if I'm really sleepy, because when I feel like that, my body really needs the sleep, and if I start gaming, I'll get engaged and stop being tired. Then when I finally do go to sleep my mind will still be engaged and I'll have trouble falling asleep even though I'm really tired, and the next day will suck.

Definitely during Fallout 3 on more than one occasion . I can't remember the circumstances, but I remember waking up and my character was facing the corner of the room, trying to walk (the controller somehow got under my leg.)
It also happened at least once during one of the Assassins Creed games. Maybe Dishonored as well. Oh, and definitely Deadly Premonition, when I was waiting for a specific time to complete a task, but didn't want to (or didn't know I could) speed up time.
I know I shouldn't play games when I'm THAT tired, but it's usually a case of wanting to "just get to the next part" or "just get that one thing I need" and falling asleep before it happens.

I've fallen asleep a number of times. I don't get to start my gaming sessions until late at night (1030-11p). If I lay down on the couch or lay back in the recliner, then it is a given that I will fall asleep. It is such an odd feeling when you wake up during a gaming session and you don't realize where or how you got to that part in the game, lol.

I'm 41 and this has happened to me several times, especially with RPG's & MMO's. If the story or quest I'm doing doesn't hold my interest I'll get bored with it and start to doze off lol. Also, like Gooter, my gaming time doesn't happen until late at night, usually between 10pm-12am.

The only time I recall falling asleep while gaming was when Final Fantasy VII came out. I had just bought my PlayStation and was having a real marathon session. I woke up late for work the next day with my controller still in my hands. My boss wasn't upset at all when I was honest about what happened. He was more interested in asking me home the game and system were.

I fell asleep while playing a hardcore character in Diablo 3. He died of course but at least he was only a level 20 character. Doh!

I distinctly recall falling asleep when playing RPGs - it might have actually been FFVII. Wandering around the world, falling asleep, then being jerked very rudely awake by the random encounter music. Kinda scary actually

Re: You ever fall asleep while playing?
So this finally happened to me . I was playing Assassins Creed 3 (which was the first problem) late this past weekend, put down the controller for a split second during a cut scene, and when I woke up Connor was just standing there, chillin. I'm pretty sure it was just a few mins though, so I just turned it off and went to bed.

I remember falling asleep during one of the Xenosaga games (a JPRG on the PS2). Despite getting good reviews, it's a bit infamous for crazy-long cut scenes (some of which go on for over 30 minutes!). I don't know how long I was out for. Fortunately nothing critical was going on in the game. My character was just standing there with everyone else waiting for me to do something.

2 nights ago, I fell asleep in the middle of a WoW dungeon. I nodded off a few times when the dungeon started, but I was able to hold on for a few more minutes before my head was on the desk and i was snoring. I am sure the other party members were pleased with me.

Re: You ever fall asleep while playing?
yup, the last two times:
FFVII - I bought it for the PS3 and wanted to max out each character's stats and battling in the sunken sub to do that is so boring.
Eternal Sonata - Fell asleep during the cutscenes.

Re: You ever fall asleep while playing?
Yep. During the initial cutscene on Metal Gear Solid 4. It was the only time I ever played the game too. Great use of $60 considering I bought it the day it came out.
