Far Cry Instincts isn't really a port, it's more like a console remake made by Ubisoft. The original Crytek game is much stranger, and open world.

I really wanted to play Far Cry 3 and the game got a lot of positive reviews with its open world, combat, interaction with wildlife, various types of weapons and just a lot to do. I was sorry to see though the coop part was very limited and with this game seems to be almost a must with it's size. One reason why I'm almost sure I'll be getting the PS4 version.

FIW...Ubisoft will be kicking some serious butt come Fall with both Far Cry 4 and Assassins Creed Unity...they're relly a solid bunch.

All Fry Cry games (except for Blood Dragon) have kept me at a distance, for one reason or another. Be it the tedious traversing of boring open worlds, the pointless scavenging of resources, guns breaking on you, etc. It's like they made a fun game, but then incorporated all these "realistic" things to keep it from being too fun. Anyhoo, I hope they side-step all that tedious shit with this game.

Who needs a armored car or even a tank when you can get a Pet Elephant....

Honestly, I felt the same way you did in regards to Far Cry 1 & 2. Both I got with a lot of hype and played for about two hours before I had to uninstall them. But for me Far Cry 3 (FC3) was a total game changer. I'm not sure what exactly did it but that one was a total blast and one of the very few titles of last generation that I literally did everything in. If this one has the same team behind it as FC3 I'm getting it day one.

Well, for one, FC3 had quick jumps to secure points... you don't have to travel by land to get to the next spot... but if you did, there was some good hunting opportunities and some beautiful scenery along the way.

FC2 felt punishing to me. I only made it a few hours in before I got tired of the enemies respawing at the control towers. I don't want to travel that far to get killed and have to start all over again.

I liked the idea of guns jamming in a firefight. Made it more realistic.

No, actually, the guns in that game went bad and jammed up far quicker and far more often than real guns do in real life. If anything, it was horribly contrived and ended up making the game less realistic.

Far Cry 4 Weapon Showcase...what blast this looks like...the fire in this video looks as good as I've ever seen.

Far Cry 4 Season Pass Content and looks like a good deal...

• The Syringe – Available from launch exclusively for Season Pass holders, players must keep a rare and potent recipe from falling into the hands of Pagan Min’s forces. Playable in single-player and co-op, players will need to ensure that he does not use its devastating effects on the rebel forces.

• Escape from Durgesh Prison – Ajay and Hurk have been rounded up and tortured in Yuma’s prison. Team up with a friend to escape and survive the hostile lands of Pagan Min’s Kyrat.

• Hurk Deluxe Pack – Five missions, playable in single-player and co-op, including Yak Farm, Blood Ruby and Hurk’s Redemption are available. Access an arsenal of new weapons including a harpoon gun for Hurk.

• Overrun – Team up as Rakshasa or Golden Path in this PvP mode and control a series of neutral locations across Kyrat’s countryside to protect them from being overrun by your opponents.

• Valley of the Yetis – Ajay’s helicopter has crashed on an unforgiving Himalayan ridge. Explore the frozen landscape and find tools to upgrade your camp and protect it from a dangerous cult when night falls. With single-player and co-op options, players will not be alone, but in the darkest caves players will have more to fear than just the cult as the yetis await their prey…

A digital bundle including the game and pass, called the Far Cry 4 Gold Edition, will be available for $89.99.

I think I'm getting this now with the Spend $100 and get $15 back on PSN. I've already spent $14 and with all this DLC in the Season Pass almost to good to pass up.

Yeah, I'm thinking about this too now. Looks like it could be fun co-op and since I still have discounted PSN credit in my virtual wallet and seem unlikely to spend it on #clusterfuck, I might just go this route instead.

These season passes before the game is even released are out of control. I am in for FC4 on day one but I'll be damned if I get suckered into paying upfront for another batch of DLC like I did with the Destiny Limited Edition.

I hear you, but without it, I'd never get to $100 if I don't also buy Driveclub (and it's looking more and more like I won't).

Season passes, and DLC in general, are just a given now with the new generation. They're a comparatively easy source of revenue for developers, and they're usually very successful. People apparently love throwing money at a promise for future content of unknown quality.

When even strictly single-player narrative-driven games like Alien: Isolation and The Evil Within have season passes, you know you can pretty much expect them for every non-indie title going forward.

Well I know for sure I have another friend getting this and I'm glad to see the co-op is part of the whole game and not some add on like in FC3. This game just calls for two-players much like Army of Two series which I actually liked but this is wide open.

On the DLC, that's a lot of stuff up front and I don't think it's so much being suckered as to waiting later and deciding. With this and even Destiny , I'm set for at least a year and no looking back or asking around if someone is getting the DLC or not.

Re: Far Cry 4 -- November 18, 2014 - PC, PS3, 360, PS4, Xbox One

I agree these season passes are getting out of control. I remember the other day someone was saying on a forum I was reading that gaming hasn't got that expensive....games are still only around 60 bucks after all these years. Yeah, the initial price, but if you want to play the "complete" game it costs you between 85-95. Instead of packing a complete game from the beginning they are holding stuff out they had ready to get another 25-30 bucks and could have been included in the initial release. Destiny's initial release just screams of this.

Anyway, on topic, at least the Far Cry stuff is announced and it sounds pretty good. Also, they include a little incentive with a day one bonus. Most games just want you to buy the season pass without even knowing what is going to be included.

I pulled the trigger on the Gold bundle. Had the discount PSN credit in my wallet + wanted the rebate + game looks insane = Might as well.

I'm pulling the trigger tonight when I get home on the digital PS4 version with season pass. I just think this is going to be a fun game and the fact it has drop-in co-op thru it all makes it even better. And besides...who doesn't want to ride an Elephant with a rocket launcher or have it toss enemies in the air while you skeet shoot them...
