Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I got a green Devil Dino today with a 50hp token which broke my "crap" streak.

lady thor is over powered. the red ability is too good since its pretty cheap and creates the bonus AP gems.

i'm going with Ares, Hulk, BPanther for my current PvP team. i didnt know that you could set up a defensive team. my offensive team isnt too bad for defense except i dont have a purple user. I could see OBW instead of BP but i figure BP scares people away with the Rage power.

The annoying thing about this PvP is that you take too much damage even against "weaker" teams since its hard to kill all the enemies before they get off some big moves

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I got a green Devil Dino with 50 HP this morning too. Seems like they're doing some deliberate stuff there, as it seems like as the event began everyone pretty much got a Purple one at the time. All too convenient.

I snuck in to the last 10 minutes of a Lightning Round last night and managed to place first Got 3 tokens, 2 useless but 1 Captain Marvel.

I would encourage everyone to at least try the Lightning rounds. They changed it this time so the pool is only 20 people, so it's certainly easier to get the top rewards than when everyone is pooled together (note this is only for rewards, people can still attack across pools)

I agree completely. I've jumped into three rounds in the last 10 minutes or so and scored at least one anniversary token and at least 1K ISO each time.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Wanted to add that 4* Thor is pretty good. Great job letting everyone get a chance to play with her, since if she's anything like Fury it'll take me years to get enough covers for her to be usable. So far every incarnation of Thor and Wolverine are pretty good for their respective levels, and the opposite is true of Spider-man...

I believe Lady Thor is a Season 7 placement award.

Yep, got an email from them last night stating that.

This balance of power event is brutal. I've tried leaving multiple 'defensive' teams up and inevitably keep coming back to find I've been attacked for over 100 pts. I'm not interested in buying enough HP to shield hop, and it's a pain in the ass. I was hoping to get high enough for the 2400 DD progression reward, but that's looking pretty unlikely at this point.

Bought an Anniversary token today and got a needed She-Hulk, bringing me to 11 for her. Going back to regular tokens after today is going to be a big letdown.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I finally got a cover I really wanted from an Anniversary Token, Black Panther Black. Two or three more covers and then I'll be ready to dump all my ISO into him. I'm at about 100K right now.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

So far the only covers I've gotten from Anniversary tokens are: devil dino, ares, OBW. Thats it, like 3 ddinos and a bunch of the other two.

I got the deadpool cover from the anniversary pvp. thats about as far as i can go. I need to start saving up HP again to open more roster spots

Man, I lost to a seed team in a lightning round. Ridiculous cascades + team ups. I mean 4* Thor is good, but I had one too and the only other people on her team were two 1* lvl 20s...

It looks like some of the double ISO rewards may still apply. I am seeing 60 ISO bonuses to all PVP matches ATM.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

You gotta figure this new captain marvel will play into essential nodes in a PvE for lady thor so I'm going hard at it. The 40k progression will be my 8th cover for cap. They changed the heroic 10 pack back to the 5k reward for season 7 which sucks.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

What is the best way to lower your MMR or is that really a myth? I'm hitting the PvP wall of max levels earlier now, at 500 points vs 600 points, and it was damn hard to go from 500 to 600 in the first pvp event of the new season. Do I take a weak team into the Simulator, win one, and hope people start attacking me? Or can I lose games on purpose?

You have to lose games on purpose, hopefully with your weakest team and the loaner, early on, when the points don't matter as much (ideally the first few matches you do when you have 0 points, but up to the 100s is probably ok before you start losing too many points/have people start attacking you). Once you get too high, not only do you lose too many points, but you put a weak team on defense and run the risk of being attacked before you can put out another strong team, so that's dangerous.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Does losing matches in the Simulator affect the MMR? MMR is global for all PVP right, not separate for each event?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I don't think lightning rounds factor in anymore, and I don't remember if they changed the shield simulator stuff. One danger of getting it too low is that you'll eventually only hit low level teams, which makes it hard to climb. Also, if you're going from 500 to 600 it'll be tough no matter what, anything above around 500 is either pick off the weak for a pittance or go after some big boys and shield.

On PvE, I don't know if tanking helps, but the developers give you automatic tanking nodes every single time. Before I went to sleep last night I threw all my heavy hitters at that lvl 200+ Daken/Hawkeye/grunt node and got utterly demolished every time. And I know better than to even attempt that Venom node.

I'll hit 40K for the cap cover but i still dont think i'll make the top 200 ranks since i'm at 37K now and rank 300+

All these new characters are making it harder to get the covers I need.
