Dead Island
Um...I don't know how this will play out, but this teaser is unbelievable.

Re: Dead Island
So what do we know about this game? Clearly it's not silly zombie action like Dead Rising and it's not insane onslaught like L4D. Is it an interactive movie like Heavy Rain where your actions influence the outcome?

Re: Dead Island
There's no doubt in my mind that it'll be almost impossible for the game to live up to the emotional reaction that the trailer elicits, but said trailer is definitely an amazing accomplishment. So that's at least promising.

Re: Dead Island
Judging from wiki alone (in answering my own question), I have no doubt it's even less enticing now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Island
So, it's like Borderlands of the Dead? But without the tongue-in-cheek nature?
Dead Island is a survival horror first-person shooter with RPG elements, currently in development by Techland for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
The game will be published by Deep Silver, but so far no release date has been revealed.
It is an open-ended game, centered on the challenge of survival on a zombie-infested island. The game uses a first-person perspective. However, the developers are claiming that the game will be far beyond a typical first-person shooter experience, mainly due to a bigger emphasis on melee combat, role-playing elements and a clear focus on story-telling. IGN has revealed the game is still in development.
The game features a sandbox style gameplay on a tropical island.
The zombie style and the story are massively influenced by George A Romero's movies.
The game is focused on melee combat, the player can pick up almost anything and use it as a weapon.
There are multiple playable characters.
4 Player drop in/out Co-Op

Re: Dead Island
To be fair I don't think anybody has seen anything on the game since like 2007, so who knows what is still accurate at this point.

I should have know someone would beat me here. That trailer was amazing. Easily the best trailer for anything I've seen (game or movie) so far this year. I hope this game turns out good, I had forgotten about it. Gonna watch it again.

Re: Dead Island
You folks highlighting skepticism due to no in game footage and a CGI trailer not being indicative of actual gameplay know you're not really breaking news to anyone right?
