Dying Light (from Dead Island Devs -- PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One -- Feb 2015)

Re: Dying Light (from Dead Island Devs -- PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One -- Feb 201
So this is interesting. They raised the price on The Following DLC from $14.99 to $19.99. They are also raising the price of the season pass from $19.99 to $29.99.
So I just picked this up on BF for $15. Don't know how I feel about dropping $20 on a season pass right now and I'm always weary of buying passes before content is released. This chunk of DLC could end up being a dud. Kind of a dick move.
Starting December 8th 2015, the Season Pass will be sold at $29.99. We didn't want this to come as a surprise to you, so we're announcing it in advance. This price change will not affect players who already own the Season Pass.
So if you're looking forward to Dying Light: The Following, you still have time to get the whole Season Pass package, including the expansion, at only $19.99. Just remember to do it before Dec 8th.

I cannot remember but the DLC includes the Horde Mode and able to play the Night Stalker(?). Me and another friend have probably completed about 85% of the game and it was a fun one...makes a world of difference with two or more. It's pretty huge with two main areas and what has been said of the next one The Following is it will be bigger than what's in Dying Light now. You get Buggies, a Crossbow, the enemies will be a tad smarter and different style missions and objectives.
We were talking the other night about getting back into this and try the Horde Mode again...need to be a bit leveled up and at least 3-4. We're both in for The Following....just the thought of driving Buggies over zombies is good enough for us which by the way will be upgradable.

After doing some reading, it sounds like the other two releases from the season pass were pretty disappointing. So I might pick up The Following (assuming it's any good) later down the line when it hits 50% off or so. The season pass is still listed as $19.99, but I guess that will change later today once the store updates.

I never did Play The Hunter role but we did do some of the Horde part of the pass. I grabbed one weekend when they had the game and season pass discounted on PSN. It's fun but you almost need 3-4 which is probably the idea. When we did get 3-4 it was a blast. The Following itself will be bigger than the original, enemies be smarter, tougher, new mission types, new weapons and you'll still be able to go back to the other two maps as well. Technically, it's not a plain simple DLC but more of a large extension. I wouldn't say like The Taken King to Destiny but it's not a few maps and a new mode like COD or BF throws at you.

I have been meaning to pick this up as i heard great things about it. Seeing DLC coming out though makes me want to hold off until the release of the inevitable complete package. That DLC looks a lot of fun though.

Wonder if the US will also get that release, or if it will be like the recent Bloodborne physical release and not come here.
Also, while the season pass is $29.99 on the PS store now, you can still buy the code on Amazon for $19.99

Honestly I'm not sure how much better they can make "enhancement" in those areas...the sound was great, had no gameplay quality issues, the PS4 played it just fine and I think the game froze maybe once or twice and the overallall game look....downright close to perfect, especially nighttime play, with the day & night change coupled with the weather effects. The textures throughout, the lighting and some of the smaller details were stunning.

Thanks for that heads-up. I don't own the game yet, but had $2 in "No Rush" credit and for $18, I'll buy the upgrade now and get the game cheap somewhere down the line from Gamefly or maybe on an upcoming PSN sale or something...

I don't think that's a no rush credit. I also have $2 that can be applied toward game purchases, but also have $28 in no rush credit that can't be applied.

Would be nice to see more get into this and do 3-4 player co-op. It's the best co-op Zombie fun I've had since the Left4Dead series with the 360 way back. Might need to start gathering names for those who has this or planning to. Just getting those buggies with one driving and one shooting is going to be a blast

Bit of good news on the level system with the new DLC coming...
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...el-system.aspx
Dying Light Enhanced Edition And Free Update Include Legendary Meta-Level System
If you’ve played Borderlands 2 or Diablo III, you’ll be familiar with the concept of meta-levels. In the former, they’re called Badass Ranks. In the latter, it’s Paragon levels. Dying Light is getting something similar next year.
When Dying Light: Enhanced Edition and its related free update for the vanilla version arrive, players will be able to start earning Legendary Levels. These are unlocked once one of the three primary skill trees are completed.
Legendary Levels, of which there are 250, allow you to upgrade your damage, health, stamina, and other core stats. Unlike other games with meta-level systems though, you only have one character in Dying Light. The core concept is similar though, giving you a way to boost base-level stats when you’ve reached the end of the original progression system. For every 25 Legendary Levels earned, you’ll unlock a new emblem or outfit

So this is the daily deal (Xbox One) for $25, and I've really been curious to pick this up. Would buying that and the Season Pass ($20 on Amazon I think) be the same as picking up the Enhanced Edition on Feb. 9 (retails for $60), which is what I had been waiting to do?

I didn't buy a single game for the holidays for the fact I've still got plenty to work on but also The Following DLC is going to be really big. It's still six weeks away but when it hits there goes my time.

Dying Light dropped to $29.99 at Best Buy. Getting the game for $24 (w GCU) and the Season Pass for the mistakenly priced $20 (still at Amazon and Game Stop) is a heck of a deal (Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition is $59.99 next month)
-- actually that edition would be $48 at Best Buy before any sales. Not a huge savings this way. But still a little cheaper.

I started this over the last week. I'm having fun, but at times wanted to throw my controller in frustration. I hate the bombers so much.

Xbox or PS4?....
yea, those Bombers can be a pain especially if they sneak up behind you. Firecrackers, throwing things and Molotov Cocktails help out. Firecrackers can be one of the most useful gadgets to carry. you think they're bad...wait till you go out at night.

PS4. Yea, going out at night sucked, those volatiles are terrifying. I only did it when the mission required it. Scariest part of the game is when you're being chased by a dozen volatiles in the sewer during the last mission.
I beat the storyline tonight. Fun game. The grappling hook made life A LOT easier. Still hate bombers and those creatures who spit the poison at you. Those things killed me a few times.
I finished the game at level 20 survivor, 14 agility, 16 power. It must take a long time to get fully leveled up in agility and power, considering I did quite a bit of exploring and did all the side quests too and only ended up at 14 and 16.
I think I went into the last mission with a weapon that had a damage rating of around 800...I take it weapons you find when you're level 25 have like 2000 or 3000 damage?

I still haven't done the final, still loose ends in the new area and try to go back and looking for the statues and other stuff. I haven't picked it back up probably in three months and need to just go out and whack some zombies to get the feel of it again.
Two out at night is the way to go and we did three once or twice...makes it so much better tag teaming and another pair of eyes....they can be sneaky. I like the "Flashlight" but I prefer the Flares. The Flashlight is good up close and putting it on one if he's attacking someone but the flares can stun them long enough for you to whack them. Also good for clearing a path if you need to get somewhere.
I need to contact my friend and see when she wants to get back on, just get the feel of it tie up some lose stuff before the DLC. You're more than welcome to add me....this game was made for co-op and one of the better ones I've played in that regards. The more I've looked into The Following the more I cannot wait. Just driving those Buggies will be fun. Need to check the trailer showing just how the Buggy upgrades work.
