In the old thread, someone mentioned that they use very specific rechargeable batteries with their 360 controllers. They were some sort of super-magic-powered batteries that last forever. Can anyone point me to such a thing?

Dammit. I was going to wait until next year to get One but the bundle popped up on Costco.com so I ordered it. Guess I'll hook it up to run the updates then stash it until Christmas. The kids are going to poop themselves.

I've used Eneloops for over 6 years and they still last as long as they did when they were new -- usually about a week of moderate to heavy use.

Has anyone figured out how to stream music from their PC to their X1? The Music Player app doesn't appear to have any settings and I haven't seen any other apps to allow this.

so my initial impressions:
set up is easy, although getting everything together is a pain in the ass. the day one patch went quick. installation and everything else was super easy.
i like the tiles and having a separate pin section. quite a few things you can put on there.
i don't like how hard it is to get into the settings menu. it's hidden as fuck. and there aren't any voice commands to take you right there. that's dumb.
i like the new controller. it seems smaller although it really isn't that much smaller. i like the new sticks. i don't like the bumpers (a common complaint). there's a sharp edge if you come from the trigger to the bumper. the new vibrating motor is nice. very subtle. not like the 360 controller that a woman could use to please their nether-regions.
putting in a disc and not being able to play right away is sort of a bummer. sure it's only once, but it sort of takes away from that awesome feeling of cranking a game right up. dead rising 3 took about 20 minutes to load up fully.
overall i'm enjoying the experience. graphically i don't see dr3 as anything monumentally increased than the 360, but the quantity of things on the screen is absurd. thousands of zombies roaming around. pretty fun just to mow them down in a vehicle.

i can't believe how damn quiet this thing is. The only time I heard It make noise was when it was installing a game to the HDD.

Got my Killer Instinct gift. Email has this disclaimer:
"The single-use code can only be used once, and only on an Xbox One. Do not share the code with anyone else. This free gift is valid only for the authorized account holder of the gamertag this email is addressed to, is nontransferable and not redeemable for cash."
It also expires on 6/30/14. That doesn't matter for me, but I know several people who got the game but aren't getting a One right away, so that kind of stinks especially since it can't be given away.

I picked up Zoo Tycoon for my daughter tonight because I knew she would be crushed over the absence of Minecraft and she is absolutely loving it.

Just got a shipping notice, but now its not coming until Monday...have Ryse and Forza due then too. Any owners who can recommend a good third game? Avoided DR3 because of mixed reviews, but may wind up getting it if its the best third alternative.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
So I have an X1 problem I want to see if anyone else has experienced.
While I was setting up my system (very easy overall) I noticed that my Vizio soundbar (VSB205) started acting crazy. Like the volume would immediately crank all the way up to full blast. And I couldn't use the cheap remote or even the buttons on the soundbar itself to turn it down.
So i experimented and turned the X1 off. Immediately the soundbar worked perfectly again. Turned the system back on, up went the volume. I then covered the area that I think has the remote sensor on the bar and that seemed to stop any upward movement on the volume.
Since we're so early into the system being released, I couldn't find any info on this. Have any of you guys experienced anything like this? Or read anything about it? Or, in general, does anyone have any tips (beyond covering the soundbar sensor?) This is definitely a headscratcher for me.

In some of the documentation it says that I may cause some issues with some infrared sensors. So yeah.
I'm looking into how to turn off the TV automatically when the Xbox One is turned off, any ideas?

Makes me glad I was able to order it online with store pickup at BestBuy and that I cancelled my Amazon order.
One thing I miss, is there nowhere in the UI to eject the disc in the system?

I set up my Harmony One to work with the new XBox and everything seems to work well. Does anyone know the function for info when playing a BluRay or watching Netflix? Maybe I'm blind but I didn't see anything in the codes. It's usually called info or display. Thanks.
