That said, at least Microsoft is giving away a pretty darn cool freebie in Rare Replay.

It did seem a bit arbitrary, but I had no problem following the directions. Signed up by linking to MS account, left it on the Xbox Mixer channel, profit. Hell, I've done it twice with no issues.

I didn't get a message, for whatever it's worth. (I have my phone set to alert me whenever I do.) I just popped on my Xbox, and there it all was.

The notifications came on Mixer, not through XBL. The content just auto-installs on the Xbox (assuming you're set up for that).

I got a notification for Rare Replay and those other two games I never heard of on Xbox and Mixer.

As I said above, I don't have my Xbox anymore and did all the viewing through my browser.

All the games just showed up under my account at Xbox.com. I don't know if that was for my Tuesday viewing or yesterday's viewing. Tuesday I viewed through Microsoft Edge, yesterday through Firefox. It would be highly ironic if it only registered the Firefox viewing.

(I also made sure yesterday to "sign up" with my MS id instead of just logging in with my MS id - it still took my to the same account, so not sure if that actually helps or not)

I signed in Mixer with my Microsoft ID. It seems like it's working, because it's displaying my gamer tag.

OK, I haven't checked on my console yet. I just kept checking the XB1 app on my phone and like you said, no notifications. I'll check tonight once I get home.

Like I wrote before, the first day, I just clicked on "Log In" and used my MS ID. Nothing. The second day, I clicked on "Sign Up" and created an account using my MS ID. That night, I got the bonuses.

I think the giveaway may have needed a Mixer account specifically, and logging in with the MS ID may bypass that, and thus bypass the tracking they were using for Mixer accounts.

Edit: Today's feed still looks live, so this is probably the last chance to get it.

One thing I noticed on my Mixer account was that, for at least the first day, it said I was at Level 0, despite watching the entire MS thing. Then, just yesterday, when I logged in again, I was suddenly at Level 6. I just streamed for a few minutes and got up to Level 7. Hopefully that's enough to get my free shit.

Yeah, but to be fair, the ability to sign in to Mixer using your MS ID is confusing. I did it the first day because it was there, and only changed it up the second day because I like experimenting/troubleshooting. The steps for logging in and "signing up" using an MS ID are functionally identical in terms of steps, aside from the first button you click. Also, the FAQ they provided for "linking" a Mixer account assumed you already had a Mixer account, and didn't provide clear steps for what you had to do if you didn't have one yet. Like, the method I described of signing up using the MS ID wasn't actually mentioned.
