re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I'm looking for some advice. I've been home and just remembered to track the shipment. I have a tracking number from UPS that says it delivered at 10:30am EST. I never heard the doorbell (my dogs would go nuts if they rang or knocked) and there's nothing anywhere around my front door where the tracking information says they left it.

Amazon was useless. They basically said that it's guaranteed by 8pm EST and could still show up. If it doesn't, it's not considered 'lost' until Monday night and I can contact them then. They said they didn't have any direct UPS help to provide. I contacted UPS directly and they said all they could do was open a claim, which wouldn't be worked probably for days.

This really sucks. Anybody have any other good ideas or suggestions?

sucks. check neighbors porches, that's happened to me before. go to local UPS distribuition facility if you know where that is (you can't get a phone number for it).

Thanks. Checked with the neighbors that were home and nobody had it and it obviously wasn't on their porch.

What happens if you just show up at the distribution center? Do they even have a customer service area? Hadn't considered that one.

The UPS distribution center has a counter. But they won't have anything until after the trucks are back this evening.

Update: You can control your cable/satellite just fine through the Xbox One. Just didn't get around trying to use my Harmony remote till just now. You can't use the Xbox One as a DVR, of course.

No system issues yet. Getting used to the interface still. Games are installing with no problems. Haven't done any multiplayer yet.

I had a recent delivery from Amazon that Fed Ex showed as delivered to my door after hours (in a busy office building, thank you very much). I called Amazon to complain. It turned out that it was never delivered, just attempted. They delivered the item properly the next day.

Got mine all installed with 0 problems! Messed around with the upload studio and editing clips, pretty neat. Definitely need to learn the voice commands a lot better, but they seem to work well. I searched for, selected and installed all of my apps and Killer Instinct with voice only

Not a fan of the friends list or the d-pad yet. The d-pad has too low of a profile to be usable...guess they will never get it right.

BTW : Did anyone else buy KI yet? That was such a pretty game, I had to splurge the $20 (to be fair, I redeemed one of my remaining 1600 point cards I got last BF at Target for $10, so I must have been pretty frugal in the Marketplace this year).

I liked the D-pad. Felt great and smooth to me. It's those damn thumbsticks with ridges that I hate.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I already redeemed my day one card, so no quick buck for me.
Scanning the QR with Kinect was bad-ass. It's trivial, sure, but damn. Really cool.

Installing updates and apps went really fast. Killer Instinct took a few minutes before I could play it. NFS:R took maybe 20 before I could watch the cut scene and do the tutorial. Overall, an enjoyable experience. Ghosts has been installing since I left for work, so I have no idea where the progress is at.

The only thing I had trouble with was redeeming the 14-day Live card in the Day One box, and the 2-day Live card in the Controller w/ Play & Charge box. Not sure what the deal is there. The Day One 12-month card is silly... and no QR code, so I had to type both 25-digit codes in. Ugh! That's SO pre-Nov-2013.

Oh, and I have a second Day One console on the way from MS today. If anyone (in Canada only, sorry) really wants it, let me know. I'd rather sell it to someone here than a TOTAL stranger.

Was there any way for you to know until they just showed up the next day?

They do if you ordered and paid for 12 months of Live in addition to the console

Still playing the UPS waiting game. Any other non-important item and they would have been here by noon, and now it's almost 2:30. This day is turning out entirely predictable.

On another note, has anyone who got the free Killer Instinct reward received an email about it today? The original email they sent said "Watch your inbox on November 22 for instructions on how to claim your free gift." (I assume the instructions are "Here, redeem this code.") I haven't seen anything yet today though.

if they're nice, they might call the driver and ask him if he remembers dropping it off... most likely they'll be unhelpful dicks though

The amount the code is going for is wacky.

The amount the controller is going for is almost as wacky...
