Seriously, I now get what all the Guacamelle fuss was about. The game is fantastic. I love all the jabs at old Nintendo games in it.

Finished Max. I have one achievement left... The Perfect Sliding one. I'm finding it more frustrating than the lava or boss achievements. Really fun game, though.

For all of the Max "no death" levels, you can exit to the Main menu if you die. When you continue from the checkpoint, the death does not count. Saves you at least 1/2 of the level and makes the achievements really easy. The final boss one was the most difficult.

Just beat Guacamelee, the end boss will give you fits at first but beat him in about 20 minutes. Now going back and trying to find everything since I can break all the color blocks now from earlier in the game before trying to beat it on hard. This game has been a blast!

I got him on my second or third try, surprisingly. I used the skeleton costume, which gives unlimited stamina, and I just headbutted the hell out of him the whole time. The arena battle with the four lightning wizards, though...? Genuinely didn't think I'd ever be able to pull that one off!

I got stuck on some random hard ass platform jumping section and gave up. Started up Wolfenstein instead. I'm sure I will get back to it eventually, but the difficulty and terrible platforming controls kills any fun for me.

That was my experience playing the game last year. Brilliant art design and great music and some cute winking humor, all almost undone by complicated multi-step controls and frustratingly hard platforming later in the game.

I just picked up the Xbox One yesterday. I noticed my HDMI cable does not stay in very well in the XB's port. The HDMI cable that came with the system seems to fit better, but I can't use it currently as I need a longer cord. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a longer HDMI cable (10') I can get on Amazon that will fit securely? I usually order media bridge cables which are great, but they are not a good match for the XB.

Thanks! This helped me get through the sliding level. I found the final boss to be quite easy, myself. It only took me about for or five tries.

As for Guacamelee, I beat one of the final bosses last night
so I think I'm right at the very end.

Yep, I'm on my third HDMI cord because if there's even a hint of any looseness, it seems to disconnect the signal, I finally tried my cheap Amazon HDMI cord and, surprisingly, it works the best of the variety I have. I don't need the length that you do, so perhaps someone else can recommend a cord that long.

BB has One controllers for $59.99, but it comes with a $20 gift card. If you are in the market for another controller, it seems like a decent deal. I may bite since I have a $20 RZ cert to use.

I'm moving soon, so I hope my new setup allows me to use the provided cable. If you breathe on the other cables I have, it won't detect the signal. I guess the port is too recessed inside the casing.

However, if I end up connecting my directv receiver to the xbox, I'll still need another cord. I did find one of those Amazon basic cables around the house and it did work better than the media bridge cables I had.

So I was just watching something on Netflix, and suddenly the episode stops and an Xbox One system update pops up. No option to just keep watching my show, of course. My options were to update, continue offline (pointless considering the app I was using), or shut down.

Hooray for next gen!

I'm pretty sure the next system update will add the ability to continue playing offline if you choose not to update, much the the 360 did. Of course, this will never work for a game/app that requires online, like Netflix
