CastleStorm: Definitive Edition is May's GwG title.

I have no idea what CastleStorm is. Looks like we're back to mediocre releases.

It's pretty sad, especially right after seeing the list of 5 PS+ games for PS4 (partly thanks to cross-buy).

FYI
Best buy emailed a coupon for a free $50 gift card if you purchase the Xbox One. I received the email yesterday. It's tempting, but I'm having trouble justifying owning multiple consoles with the PS4 included along with still using my 360.

Maybe, although the PS+ pool doesn't scream out at me as being awesome either (other then Guacamelee, which XBox got earlier).

Castlestorm is fun. I think I played it on the 360.

Still, it's pretty sad that they don't release some top titles for free every once in awhile. Why not Forza 5 or Dead Rising? Or even Zoo Tycoon or Assassins Creed?

It's kind of a mash up of Angry Birds, Swords and Soldiers, Crush the Castle and PixelJunk Monsters. It's not bad as a handheld game, but I never played it on the PS3 and doubt I ever would on the XO either.

Because they have to pay out more for AAA titles.

Finished Child of Light today. Really enjoyable, almost felt like a slimmed down old school JRPG. The rhyming stuff annoyed me at first, but as the game went on it started to feel more charming. The music is wonderful as well. Wish there were more side quests to do, but otherwise a pretty lengthy game too for what it is.

I never really care about getting all achievements, but I only had a couple left after beating the game and actually went and got them all. I'm annoyed that I went through the last 1/3 of the game without even getting one of the characters. Oops!

Dance Central Spotlight, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, Forza Horizon 2, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Kalimba, Kinect Sports Rivals, Lococycle, Magic the Gathering, Minecraft, Ori and the Blind Forest, Ryse, Screamride, State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition, Sunset Overdrive, and Zoo Tycoon are all Microsoft Studios games that could easily be thrown out to Xbox Live Gold members for free.

I could see Forza 5 being the first "AAA" title, especially with Forza 6 coming out at the end of this year.

Minecraft for free. Keep dreaming. It's still way too much of a cash cow.

People have been predicting Ryse, Zoo Tycoon, Forza 5, Lococycle, and Dead Rising 3 every month since GwG started on XB1 almost a year ago.

I think we all have different definitions of AAA these days.

You misunderstand business. The hardware division and Microsoft Game Studios aren't the same things. While it seems like it would just be moving money around in house, it's a lot more complicated than that.

They'd be killing it on 360 if they just started at the beginning and handed out Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, N3, Fusion Frenzy 2, Blue Dragon, etc. But they're not. And it's because of business.

Been some rumors, started by Paul Thurott who is a Microsoft/Windows fan site reporter basically, that the XBox One will get DVR functionality.

^ Thurrott is pretty reliable, he's never one to just make shit up, so I'd take it as a pretty reliable report.

Finally a reason to use the HDMI-in port, right?

Is there any reason to think this will work with 3rd party TV service providers? It seems to me that it would only be allowed if you're using MS's own OTA tuner.

I can't imagine Comcast, TWC, Cox, etc would much like for you to be able to record their signals on a different device.

I doubt it will record via the HDMI-in. More likely, it will record using the new tuner that's compatible with the XB1:

If MS approves a Cablecard compatible tuner, you could get a Cablecard from any of those providers and use it. It's how the current Tivo DVRs work with cable systems.

I guess. My dad had that because he's a fossil. Are you a fossil?
