Hmmm, that kinda looks like crap. Hope it's easy achievements!

I still haven't finished Super Time Force, and barely touched Chariot

I've completed every other free game though, even Crimson Dragon and Strike Suit Zero.

Free X1 game is Volgor the Viking, brand new indie game.

360 gets a Red Faction game and Viva Piņata 2.

Another super-hard retro-style indie action platformer. We haven't had one of those in... actually that's exactly what we got for Games with Gold in October and September. And with Playstation Plus in November. And October.

I know you mentioned it in the PS4 thread, but yeah i'm getting tired of all these indie games. I know some are fun, and a lot are free, but its the same stuff that could have been made last gen.

As disinterested as I was in that Doom-Minecraft hybrid was, at least it was different. I'm getting bored to tears with all the pixilated Contra/Golden Ax clones or generic rogue-like games. Give me something different, folks!

I forgot to mention how fucking great the ability to use Achievement art as a background for your console is. Like getting hundreds of free themes. It's really awesome. The Forza Horizon 2 achievements look great.

Haven't had much time to actually mess with my XBox, but finally played the first episode of D4. I know some of you guys here liked it, but this must be the dumbest game i've played in awhile; it just reminds me of a basic adventure game like Walking Dead or Wolf Among Us but with shitty game play mechanics (having to worry about stamina), the worst voice acting i've heard in a long time, and stupid characters. Not sure if I should bother playing the second episode. I don't think these type of games are for me at all and honestly don't get any of the appeal

Yeah, it's absolutely ridiculous. I thought it was great, and hilarious, although nowhere near as fun as Deadly Premonition (same game director, totally different gameplay style).

Clam chowder!!!

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Looks like Amazon will have the Sunset Overdrive bundle in a few days for $349

"New Inventory Coming Soon - Please check back in a couple days for new inventory on the Sunset Overdrive Bundle. Amazon.com will soon have a limited quantity of this item available for $349.99."

So now the big question, grab that bundle when it's available (tax free for me) or hold off for some better deals during Black Friday. I'm not really interested in the COD bundle (an extra $100 for an extra 500GB doesn't seem that hot, and the design looks hokey to me). And with the AC bundle, I already have Black Flag for PS4 and will probably grab Unity on PS4 as well. Soooo....Thoughts?

Also, Forza Horizon 2 is on sale at Best Buy today for $47.99 (or $38.39 unlocked). Was thinking about picking that up and preordering the Halo collection in store to get the $10 reward zone cert and GCU for another 2 years.

Damnit damnit damnit, I do NOT need this type of temptation this holiday season! Ah hell, my self discipline sucks, I'm sure I'll end up getting it.

I would say wait until black Friday. My gut tells me there will be at least a free year of live or another free game with all bundles (including sunset) on black Friday.

On Nov 8, some Best Buy stores as a holiday promo are offering a year of live free with the purchase of an xbox one.

I've had my $500 Xbone for over 11 months. Given the choice between having it to play for all that time and all the enjoyment I've experienced yelling orders at my TV I'd say I got my $150 worth.

Being a Day One adopter works out to around 43 cents a day compared to the people getting on board now. Even if you take free XBL Gold and pack-in games and double that you're still at less than a dollar and you're still Kinectless which we all know is like having your foot eviscerated by a shotgun.

I'm not saying it's been a perfect experience or anything either, but I'm glad I've had it this whole time. I mean, think about how many people are never going to bother playing Ryse or Powerstar Golf. They're the ones missing out.

Yep. If Xbox Live was always down, or if there were no games, or I couldn't play anything, maybe I would complain. But it has been a good year of Xbox One.

BTW, my references above were thinking about a new laptop, but it can be any hardware device. You know, with Apple specifically, you always beta test if you are an earlier adopter.

And of course I just turned on my Xbox One and it's sitting just there in the black screen with the white logo.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Yep. Colossal waste of a few hundred dollars for me.

Only games I have played on it are COD Ghosts (coulda played on PS4) and Dead Rising which I loved but not for what it cost me. Every other game I have purchased on PS4. Kinect is uselessly sitting in a closet since Microsoft still hasn't bothered to release a motherfucking extension cord.

On Nov. 8th you could get a SSO bundle at Best Buy which includes console, SSO game and year of live for $315 if you use the 10% movers coupon.

I paid $500 + 50 for live + 60 for SSO. $610 total. An extra $295 for the privelage of playing Dead Rising 3 and having a Kinect in my closet. Oh yeah....Day One emblem on my controller.

Seriously. Fuck you Microsoft. Really mostly my own stupid fault. Never again.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Truth. They feel the need to give away another free game to the folks who waited forever to buy the discounted system in a bundle while I get given what? A crappy 8-bit Viking game?
I've used my Kinect four times. It's in my closet. I've scanned in DLC codes for the Day One Achievement, Day One DLC content for Forza 5, Forza Horizons 2 and Sunset Overdrive. Even shouting at "Anna" I can't get the thing to work as a navigator in FH2.
I also don't like the I have to use an inelegant $25 hockey puck to plug in a headset.

I'm less than thrilled.

On the flip side though, I do love the external HDD ability. That's pretty awesome and really easy to use. That's a much easier solution than swapping out the internal HDD. Hope Sony allows that in the future as well.

And to think, I originally canceled my preorder because I didn't get the Killer Instinct or Forza 5 DLC codes like some people were getting. Thanks for doing me a favor for once Microsoft

NOTHING beats opening a new console up on launch day... so I got my $150 and then some. I love both systems.
