I'm having trouble with my XBOX One. Every time I turn it on, I have to sync my controller to the system. Anyone know what could be going wrong and have a solution to this? Thanks.

Is it an older controller without the standard headphone jack? Have you plugged in the controller lately? It probably needs a firmware update. The future is now!

Also, are you using the usb to charge something else? I was charging a Bluetooth speaker and it would cause me to have to resync every time as well.

It's not just you. I asked this question many months ago in this very forum and got no response. I had issues with the controller not turning on the console and then not connecting to live when it would turn on. Strangely enough, after a couple updates, things seem to work like they should. Knock on wood.

I got the XBOX One on release day, so it's three years old. I never had a problem with it until the past two or three weeks. Where would I look for a firmware update? Thanks for any help you guys can pass my way.

Xbox Accessories > More > Update controller.

You will need to connect the controller to the side of the console with a micro-USB cable.

Once it's updated, you no longer see the More option on the Xbox Accessiries app.

This week's XBox One sales, ripped from CAG.

:xb1: Forza Motorsport 6 Deluxe Edition - $41.99 - 40% off
:xb1: Forza Motorsport 6 Standard Edition - $29.99 - 40% off
:xb1: Forza Motorsport 6 Ultimate Edition - $53.99 - 40% off
:xb1: Gears of War Ultimate Edition Deluxe Version - $20.00 - 50% off
:xb1: Gears of War: Ultimate Edition - Day One Version - $10.00 - 50% off
:xb1: Lichdom: Battlemage - $20.00 - 60% off
:xb1: Mighty No. 9 - $14.99 - 25% off

:xb1: STAR WARS Battlefront - $20.00 - 50% off
:xb1: Tour de France 2016 - $29.99 - 40% off

Kind of tempted on Mighty No 9 despite the tepid reviews. Good price on Gears, kind of tempted to get rid of my physical copy for a digital.

There's also an Activision sale.

Does SW:Battlefront have anything to offer for my daughter? She's 8 and we watched all the movies this summer in order. She loved them and turned in to a total nerd like me. I've bought her all the lego and otherwise SW related games for her Wii. Just wondering if there is somewhere else to go next.

It's probably too hard for an 8 year old. There is a cooperative mode against bots that you guys could play together though. It's very easy on Normal difficulty.
Do you have EA Access? You can try it for like 6 or 8 hours with that service.

My 8 year old is actually pretty good at this game -- better than I am lol. He mostly plays Hero Battle or whatever it's called... but he's top 2 in every match.

Then yeah, get it. It's pretty fun for Star Wars fans. Not a lot of content, but what's there is quality.
If you like cheap scratched up games without a case, you can buy it at Redbox for $9.

MicrosoftStore.com has the Xbox One S + Select Xbox One Game w/ $50 Store Gift Card deal going on now.

$299 for the 500gb Halo bundle, $349 for the 1TB bundles (Halo/Madden)

The free games are rather terrible (Watch Dogs, The Crew, Just Dance 2016 or Just Dance Disney Party 2, doubly weird since it doesn't have a Kinect) but the $50 GC is nice.

The Just Dance games on Xbox One don't require a Kinect, they can also be used with the controller (edit: and also an app for your smartphone), although they obviously don't work as well that way.

The games are all Ubisoft games, so MS must've made a deal with Ubisoft to offer these games as a free bonus. Ubisoft might be trying to clear out titles they have a lot of stock of. Like, clear out of Just Dance 2016 right before Just Dance 2017 is released.

Counterpoint. My son just turned 7 and loves it. He is halfway decent at the game. He has never complained about the difficulty.

I went ahead and bought an "S". How does the backwards compatibility work, is it as simple as putting the disc in and ready to go?

Haven't owned an Xbox since the 360, any must exclusives I missed?

Not all 360 discs work on the S (or XBox One I would presume), so check the XBox site that lists which games are backwards compatible. I found out that Rayman Legends isn't currently backwards compatible, but Rayman Origins is. But Legends is available via digital.

Sunset Overdrive and Ori & the Blind Forest are two of my favorite exclusives on any platform. The Forza games are all terrific, especially the Horizon series. Dead Rising 3 is a lot of fun.

I also like the wikipedia list, since you can sort by date to more easily find newly added titles:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._with_Xbox_One

In addition to not all titles being backwards compatible yet, once you stick a disc in for a 360 game on an XB1, it'll download the game and store it on the HDD, the disc is only used for verification purposes.
