I don't understand complaining and criticizing the lack of games used by the Kinect for being mandatory, and now dismissing titles that use the Kinect and not calling them games. I think the only thing silly that's included on the list is a beta, otherwise i'm not sure what the complaint is.

And yeah, Project Spark can use the Kinect. I recall that was one of the demos where in game creatures could mimic your motions. Although i'm not sure why Spark is so much less of a game then Little Big Planet.

(For what it's worth, I didn't intend on this being a PS4/XB1 pissing match of titles, just relaying what Microsoft put up on their site and more of a note that the first year isn't THAT boring)

Agreed. Two of my most wanted upcoming XO games are Kinect heavy - Fantasia and the episodic D4 (what's the holdup with that one?).

LBP3 is a full game designed by Media Molicule that also allows players to make their own game levels and games within the framework
Project Spark is a game-building tool with microtransactions incorporated in it. It's a world-builder, but not an actual game. There's a difference there.

Sure the Kinect music games are games. I was just dismissive of them. Of course anything that's Kinect-required is going to be a MS exclusive.

A multiplayer beta and new DLC for KI are NOT games.

I'd still call Minecraft a game, and that always just seemed like a ugly world bulder. I don't know, just seems nitpicky and purposely negative against games that are actually unique and innovative coming to the platform (regardless of how good they actually are).

And if you get rid of the remakes each console has two.

What else can we eliminate?

Eliminate the sequels and they are both down to 1 new IP.

I think they recently announced that it would be in 2015. More news/gameplay at gamescom later this year.

Is Project Spark just going out of Beta? Is that why it's on these lists?

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

So I finally picked up an xbox one. Does anyone know how big the day one(and any other) patches are?

My problem is I am on a 350 gig a month limit from my ip. My 3 kids are home all day because of school being out, so they blasted my usage this month. I have 2 days left in this cycle and only 13 gigs of download left. They are with their mom this week so I don't have to worry about that, but I am hoping that I will get in on the Destiny alpha tomorrow and that will be roughly 7 gigs to dl. So does anyone have any idea how big of a patch I will need to hook this up? I am afraid to start it only to find out it is 10 gigs and at that point it is probably not safe to stop it.

It depends. If you got the recent $399 version without Kinect, it may have everything up to the May update. If it's an older unit with Kinect or the Titanfall bundle, chances are it'll be much bigger.

No way to know for sure, but I'm pretty sure every update says, "About to install an update that is XX MB in size. Continue or log out?" So there shouldn't be any harm in plugging that sucker in. Still, I don't think any of the system updates have been massive, other than the very first one.

I'm not sure, but I would just wait the couple days to be safe. Oh, and you need to find out what your kids are doing that they're using over 300GB a month! I LIVE on the Net (including streaming and downloading all the time) and rarely go over 50.

Sounds like they "blasted" a lot more than your usage. 300 gigs is a lot of porn!

My daughter picked up the $399 version Monday. and if I recall correctly the update was ~579MB.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

update was around 700 mb..

I don't have cable, just netflix, hulu crunchyroll ect. I have 50 dl speed so all the shows stream in HD. My kids watch anime and movies all the time. I will watch 1 movie or show a night. I think a HD movie on amazon can easily be 6-8 gigs. It breaks down to about 20 gigs a day for the family. I seriously think I am going to add basic cable just for the summer because of this.

I monitor all my kids activity and nothing bad is going on. All this streaming happens on ps4/xbox/roku anyway...

on another note...Ryse needs a near 10 gig update...wtf? You can't play it if you don't update, so I unplugged the net from my xbox one and decided to play it offline only to discover achievements will not pop up offline..>GRRRR..at least they pop up after you connect again, but fuck that...I should only be excluded from online games if I chose not to update..

So can any xbox one experts confirm what I am seeing. You can not play a game if you refuse to update (unlike the 360 which just put you offline) The only way to play a game if you are connected is to do the update?

I think once the game knows it needs an update, it won't let you play it until you update it. I see this as a flaw in the system (a remnant of the whole 24-hour check-in thing that didn't properly get patched out, but that's purely my own speculation), which should be fixed eventually. Like you said, it should just put the game in offline mode, but that that's clearly not what's happening.

This is why Caps are BS nowadays. MS and SONY want people to download their games but at a majority of people have crappy monthly limits. I'm at 250gb a month and went over last month. Luckily my cap was suspended. I really hope MS and SONY do what Netflix is doing fighting ISP's to get rid of Caps.

I'm amazed at people who use that many GB per month. I'm on the internet all day almost every day streaming in HD, downloading, and playing games online, and I rarely go over 50GB and have never gone over 100. You must be doing some massive downloading/streaming to hit 250. Either that or your provider is tinkering with their numbers.

I guess I live In a good market. I have never had a data cap from my local internet, and I'm sure I've gone through 250 GB in a week, let alone a month, especially if I'm watching a lot of Netflix or watching live feeds, like I have with E3, or downloading movies from Direct TV on demand stuff.

I honestly have no idea what I use data wise in a month. I have never received a letter from Verizon so I guess I'm ok.
